This is my Charcoal & Clay Rimmed Soap for the Soap Challenge Club.

Note: Temperatures are in Fahrenheit

In case you’re interested, I have an affiliate store where I’ve listed all of the soap making supplies and materials that I purchase on Amazon: www.amazon.com/shop/kapiamerasoapcompany

If you use those links to buy anything, it won’t cost you anything extra, but I will receive a very small percentage of the sale. Every little bit helps, though, so thank you very much if you do! :)

The Rimmed Soap technique was taught to us by Tatiana Serko of Creative Soaps by Steso. You can see her beautiful work on her blog:

My rim recipe used 45% hard oils and 55% liquid oils. I used 10% castor oil to help make the soap pliable. I avoided using Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter.

The recipe was provided by Tatiana in the Soap Challenge tutorial. www.soapchallengeclub.com/

I used the BrambleBerry 9 Bar Unfinished Birchwood mold to make the rim soap slab.

DISCLAIMER: I make these videos to share my own personal methods and techniques for how I make cold process soap. These videos are not intended as tutorials for beginners. These videos are intended for those who already have an understanding of cold process soap making. Cold process soapmaking has many variables and involves working with sodium hydroxide (NaOH, also referred to as lye). Lye and raw soap can damage your eyes and burn your skin. When making soap, you should already know and practice lye safe handling procedures and always wear safety gear. While I hope you find watching my videos helpful or entertaining, so many variables go into making soap and even the smallest change can greatly affect the results; therefore, I am not liable or responsible for your results if you try any of the methods or techniques that I use in my videos.
