IHY Luigi: OH GOD NO! Xenophanes (seeing this): OH GOD YES! NOW I CAN SAY IT! Soul Tails: What? Soul Knuckles: Steve He's dad, say it. Steve He's Dad: EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!

4:21 i like the role reversal of the boos being afraid of luigi. he got an entire trilogy out of being scared of them, but now his hate has made him so unrecognizably awful emotionally and physically that even the dead fear him!

This lyrical cover dives so deep into the IHY creepypasta lore and I love it. The way Luigi says things like "Unlike you, Koopa believed in me." "Look at me. You still see yourself, I'm a carbon copy." "You still act like you know me." But I know everything about you, Who doesn't?" Go so hard, it makes the theme become more than just, "Luigi being jealous of Mario." It makes you feel as if he's been spending his entire life in the dark without a shroud of recognition, despite working equally hard, if not, as hard as Mario. Meanwhile, Mario never expected Luigi to become the darkest side of himself and is left in confusion and also heartbroken to see his own brother working for his arch-nemesis, showing that even if it didn't seem like it, fame and glory never mattered that much to him. Let alone, more than Luigi, and that he really did love him. Most of Mario's lyrics is about him blaming himself or being selfish for not recognizing this before it was far too late, even though none of it was his fault. Boyfriend's inclusion was also something that surprisingly added more depth to the storytelling of this song. I like how it's made so that Boyfriend expresses no pity towards Luigi and believes he only has himself to blame for his fate. On Boyfriend's side, he knows that Mario is a good person and would never betray Luigi like he did him. Which is why he believes Luigi to be a fool for allowing his lack of fame to overshadow his love for his brother. It also implies Boyfriend might think Luigi was delusional for thinking that Koopa actually had even a shred of faith in him and only thought of him as an object of hatred to exploit and serve his own benefits. I really appreciate how impactful this lyric was to the original IHY as a whole, it greatly emphasizes the tragedy of both Luigi and Mario, Luigi just wanted to be acknowledged and recognized for his hard work and Mario had no clue how hurt Luigi was at this to the point of being manipulated right into the enemy's hands. If this is too long, it's because I just loved this lyric, nicely done.

the best part of this is that the hidden lyrics are actually said, unlike other lyrics where they ignore them entirely.

“red with rage and sickly green” i could be wrong but if this is a juno antasma reference i will be so happy you have no idea
  • I love how Luigi just goes out of his Italian accent for the “WHY WONT YOU DIE” line it really portrayed how much he hated Mario

My favorite thing is the sheer anger in Luigi’s voice in ‘Oh God No’ and the few voice cracks like at 0:24 and 0:16 from his rage it’s so good
  • I caught that reference at the start of IHY, "Red with rage and sickly Green"? Fitting a lyric from a song adaption from the game that reveals that Luigi's Inner strength comes from his unconditional brotherly love for mario, and using the lyrics of the secondary antagonist (antasma with lyrics by juno) for this feels really nice in contrast.

3:33 “Team of one, FORGET THE OTHER’S NAME” This has no right to go as hard as it does.
  • The bad thing about these Mario Madness songs is that too often the two singers speak over each other, making it difficult to understand anything despite the subtitles. 😥

I truly enjoy what sounds like to me the "pauses" in the voices when they speak and sing regardless if its intentional or if it's the person singings breathing because it feels human , like they are breaking as they speak in their moments of honesty and sadness

You made it so well! Very emotional and lyrics are great that's a 10/10 Edit: I wanted to say I really love in 1:41 when you removed the "longer" from the "You're no longer my brother" like luigi is denying the face they were ever brothers.
