Lyrics:
Ha! It's poetry in motion
She turned her tender eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
Mm, but she blinded me with science
(She blinded me with science!)
And failed me in biology, yeah
Huh-huh
When I'm dancing close to her
(Blinding me with science, science)
(Science!)
I can smell the chemicals
(Blinding me with science, science)
(Science!)
Mm, now but it's poetry in motion
And when she turned her eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
She blinded me with science
(She blinded me with science!)
And failed me in geometry
When she's dancing next to me
(Blinding me with science, science)
(Science!)
I can hear machinery
(Blinding me with science, science)
(Science!)
Hah! It's poetry in motion
And now she's making love to me
The spheres are in commotion
The elements in harmony
She blinded me with science
(She blinded me with science!)
And hit me with technology
(Good heavens, Miss Sakamoto! You're beautiful!)
I don't believe it, there she goes again
She's tidied up and I can't find anything
All my tubes and wires and careful notes
And antiquated notions
But, it's poetry in motion
And when she turned her eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
Uh, she blinded me with science
(She blinded me with science!)
She blinded me with

I cleared out a bar once in 1984 by playing this on the jukebox 15 times in a row.
-
I don't think you can get any more 80's than this....
-
If anyone is interested in what happened to Thomas Dolby, he is currently a professor at John Hopkins U here in Md USA. Kudos to one of the best singles of the 80's.
-
I miss the 80s so badly. It truly was a fun time to be a child.
-
I yell out SCIENCE whenever I get mad instead of swearing which makes me laugh and forget what troubled me.
-
Growing up in America, my father was English and a scientist,. The English bloke yelling science here always reminded me of him. rest in peace Papa, and thanks Thomas Dolby for the great times.

There is something mesmerizing about listening to this playing in the distance as you sneak up in a soviet outpost under the cover of the night

Something so whimsical about this song, when you hear the beginning you just know you’re in for a good time
-
As a black kid from the northside of Chicago, I was exposed to many cultures and forms of music. This song crossed all barriers and was really important in bringing together different types of people. I will always love this song because it reminds me of the carefree 80's.

WE’RE BLINDING HIM WITH SCIENCE WITH THIS ONE 🔥 🔥 🔥
-
This has got to be up there with the MOST 80’s song.
-
"Why do my students keep yelling out 'SCIENCE!!!'"? - Every high school science teacher in the US in 1982
-
The Doctor who shouts "She blinded me with science" is Dr Magnus Pyke, celebrity scientist on British TV (died 1992 RIP)
-
Pushing 45 years old but i was a kid in the 80s and love the music that came with it.

For some reason the cry of "science!!!" every so often between the verses cracks me up

-
MTV caused a music explosion and we had it all back then, what a great time to be alive. If you got to grow up in the 50's through the 80's with all the golden classic movies & music, YOU were blessed!
-
Dolby is a LEGEND!
-
If Christopher Lloyd's character from Back to the Future was to sing a song, this would be it. "Science!"
