Former Mayor Jerry Abramson worked closely with President Biden in the Obama White House and also as lieutenant governor to Beshear’s dad, Steve. Abramson talked about Andy Beshear's chances of becoming the VP pick on the Democratic ticket.

On a skills and youthfulness level, Beshear is very good on paper. Indeed, he and the VP, being former states Attorneys Generals probably approach policy issues in the same way. But, KY really should have a Dem Governor - especially if Kamala can win the Prez position and hold the Senate. Governors can make positive contributions at the national level and that could help Dems in his state.
