A small group of conservative American politicians proposed a bill to establish a fact-finding mission for a new Asian NATO. They argue that this organization would be able to serve as a deterrent to Chinese, Iranian, Russian, and North Korean aggression in the Indo-Pacific while giving the U.S. a more stable diplomatic base from which to negotiate and exert control over the region. But is such an alliance really feasible? Watch now to find out!

Moving closer and closer to having GDI (Global Defense Initiative) in real life.

It's so wild that a country as huge and wealthy as china thinks it's ok to assert their force and dominance on the other countries surrounding them, but as soon as all those countries want to team up and protect each other from china's aggression, they say it isn't fair xD

I made a comment about this years ago New Zealand 🇳🇿, Japan 🇯🇵, South Korea 🇰🇷, Thailand 🇹🇭, Australia 🇦🇺, Cambodia 🇰🇭, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Myanmar 🇲🇲, Philippines 🇵🇭, Singapore 🇸🇬, Vietnam 🇻🇳, PATO Pacific Alliance Treaty Organization!

I think it would probably be called IPTO (Indo-Pacific Treaty Organization) rather than Asian NATO.🤔

Wolf warrior diplomacy with all its neighbors has consequences.

You forgot the Philippines in the Thumbnail, due to the fact that the Philippines and the US have a Mutual Defense Treaty. SMH

When it's all said and done, when you get past all of the politics...you are who your friends are. When your closest allies are countries like Iran, Russia and north Korea it's probably not a good sign that you're on the right side of history

remember we don't need to be friend to band together we just need a common enemy
  • Instead bullying the Philippines, china should have stuck using their belt and road initiative on them... Now look what the Philippines did, whoever is in charge with handling the Philippines dropped the ball big time.

I see a natural progression of both NATO & and Indio/Pacific treaty organisation amalgamating into a global alliance encompassing all like minded democratic nations.

IPOTA - Indo-Pacific Oceania Treaty Alliance consist of the US, Australia, UK, Japan, India, Singapore, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan.
  • This is something that everyone always underestimates about the US, and that's their unmatched ability to create alliances and partnerships around the World. China's foreign policy is an absolute shit show.

Failed to mention how China aggressively encroached on Vietnamese and Philippine claims in the South China Sea / West Philippine Sea… all the way south to Indonesia’s Natuna Islands. Naval ports in Sri Lanka and Cambodia. For any action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Would like to see NATO change article 10 and start allowing Asia-Pacific countries into the military alliance such as New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.

Peace please, no war. Live is difficult enough.
  • It also bears mentioning that the organization collectively known as "The Five Eyes" may be expanded to include a sixth member. Japan. Presently, it consists of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. They gather and share intelligence from the southern Indian Ocean northward into the Indo-Pacific and Sea of Japan. Muchof the information is gathered via satellite, ships, submarines, reconnaissance aircraft and numerous buoys.. It's forwarded to a remote location in the Australian outback for processing, analysis and distribution to all the other members. With the addition of Japan it will be a most formidable system. Guess they'll need to update the name soon. To all my friends, please be well. Cincinnati, Ohio USA

I would love to see a video on how many countries regret the belt and road agreements that they signed up to.

An aliance between all major Indo Pacific nations that share respect for the global rules-based order is a no brainer and we should continue to work hard to build such relationships.
