First thing you need to do is SUBSCRIBE! 😁And Make sure you watch till the end to see what would an accurate T-rex do in some of the most iconic scenes in the franchise!

People give Jurassic a lot of hate for their inaccuracies, but the rex was actually pretty darn accurate for the time. Even by today's standards it really isn't that bad (except for it's speed).

Finally someone gives credit to the novel. T-rex couldn't see unmoving objects, because of the frog's DNA. This tiny detail was absent in all the movies.
  • I love how the name “Tyrant Lizard King” just becomes more and more fitting as the years go on and discoveries are made

Now I want to write a horror novel about an accurate tyrannosaurus that acts like a silent horror movie villain similar to Jason Vorhees.

I think having a 40 ft T Rex silently walk up to you and "roar" at you with you not hearing anything but wind as your whole body starts to vibrate from the infrasound is a lot more terrifying than the stomping, trumpeting entrance we get in the movies.
  • I love the inverse here, where science is like, “ Oh no, a real life T-Rex would be so much worse for anything unlikely enough to come across their path”
  • @duckiiee4416
To be fair, they even said in the movie that most of the dinosaurs would probably look different if their genetic code were pure, but they had to fill in gaps with DNA from other animals
  • The ingen T-Rex roaring all the time, knowing they can't see what doesn't move, is a really cool theory I've never heard, and I've been a lifelong fan even building a replica JP Jeep. Thank you.
  • Their stealth factor alone automatically makes them more terrifying than the movie version.
  • @neffdigitydog
The fact that the real life T-Rex most likely had the best vision of any terrestrial animal to ever exist means there would be no running or hiding from Rexy in real life.

This narrator should be doing monster truck rally radio spots. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY.

I agree with all of this, although I would make one addition in the hypothetical situation that the car chase scene does happen. Recent studies of the Rex metatarsal bones shows that the three were fused together, creating a foot structure comparable to animals evolved for long distance running. The compactness meant that energy loss in each step was minimal and perfectly adapted for running at full speed for a considerable time. This heavily suggests that Rex’s were long distance runners, able to outrun any potential prey, considering the majority did not have this sort of bone structure. Applying this to the car chase scene, I think Rexy would’ve just followed them all the way back to the compound, instead of just giving up, ultimately killing them all once they ran out of road.

I really love this analysis as it goes to show why people shouldn’t complain so much about inaccuracies. InGen were not making fully accurate dinosaurs and the dinosaurs they made were mishmashed with other animal DNA causing some major side effects that would hinder them to their full potential. Even Masrani’s dinosaurs were just as mishmashed.
  • What really fascinates me is the accurate Rex's stealth. That alone makes it scarier and so much more cooler 👌

I love videos like this as they make me hyped and absolutely terrified to learn more about just what an actual T-Rex was like and glad it's extinct as it was basically just a massive cross between a tiger, eagle, and a saltwater croc. A T-Rex that's accurate in accordance with today's research would be absolutely terrifying and needs to be put into a movie asap.

I love how faithful this video is to science, you even cite papers (though you don't name them, as it's an entertainment video, and that would be absurd and slow things down) But you do credit a consultant in the comments. This is surprising frankly given the announcer's style. They sound sensational, like a proper wrestling match announcer, but are faithful to science, given the topic of the video. Super cool!
  • @UnleashedRex1
Honestly I'd love to see a rex in JP actually win a fight against another carnivore. Like without some stupid outside help but with all that, it's likely never to happen.
  • @nipahnoob
So, the real thing is actually bigger than the enlarged size of jurassic park t-rexs at the time. That's insane.

Trex abilities and weaponry is like fine vintage wine. Every year its reputation as the king gets enhanced Pretty soon it will be called emperor of the tyrant lizards. what a beast.
