The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is one of the strangest, yet most beautiful games ever created. It crafted such a unique atmosphere, and in turn, led to an experience which millions of players will never forget. I hope you enjoy my retrospective of this timeless classic.

This is my favorite game. Incredibly bizarre and oftentimes horrifying, especially for a little kid. I am still upset that my friend stole my N64 cartridge.

The algorithm chose me to see this video before the masses and I am honored

As a kid I didn’t really like or care for Majora’s Mask because I didn’t really understand what was going on or what to do. As time passed and I got older I started appreciating it more for what it really is. The darkest, saddest, deepest, and strangest Zelda experience of all and it’s absolutely amazing.

Oh man - the starting sequence with the clock, and the music starting, STILL gets me....EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Majora's Mask is up there with Bloodborne as dark masterpieces, that are bizarre but so immersive and have many deep themes hidden within the game design and lore.

The "Remake" of Majora's Mask was, in my opinion, a huge downgrade from the original game. Not only are the bosses far less enjoyable to fight (as you mentioned in the video), but the swimming mechanics became way more of a chore and also the art direction looked goofy compared to the original, which had an art style that much more closely matched the tone of the game. I am glad that Nintendo finally brought the original version to modern players with its port to the Switch.
  • The remake took away probably the best mechanic of the game... the zoro swimming was my favorite

Majoras Mask was not only the second Zelda game I ever played, but the second video game I ever played. The first being Ocarina Of Time, and both being on The Legend Of Zelda Collectors Edition for the Gamecube

Majora's mask the whole Time travel thing is basically reliving 3 Days like from the movie Groundhog Day.

I imagine the brainstorming sessions for Majora’s Mask were something like “what if at the start of Ocarina we gave Link bad acid instead of a fairy?” and that ended up being the perspective of the game. It’s a masterpiece but it left me emotionally scarred as a kid 😂

This game is so good because it talks about deep and dark side of human behaviour. As a child, you can follow everything but can't really understand what is really going on untill it happens to you
  • No way they ruined boss battles like that in the remake I read about it but i thought they only added shiny textures not a whole Ganon eye when they are down.. In the original one it felt so good to not know exactly what you are doing cause as soon as you get three hits you somewhat know what to do and as soon as you beat it you put the controller down and scream YESSS

@3:10 Funny you say that because this was literally my first Zelda game. And yes, I did get stuck immediately in Clock Town. Then again, I was 4 years old and did not know how to read yet. Good times.

the anju and kafei sidequest made this game even more special imo

Oath to Order is my favorite ocarina song in this game. Also, day 3 with the bell and earthquake is my favorite theme, alongside the stone tower temple theme.

This was one of those weird, rare game cases when I didn't like at all at release, even got the special edition game and I ended up being addicted to it.
