We are crossing the Strait of Georgia but first we leave Laura Cove and Desolation Sound and head to Secret Cove on the Sunshine Coast for one night and leave the next day and cross the Straits of Georgia. We hit some pretty good wind waves and had to change our course a bit to get across before we arrived in Nanaimo BC. We couldn't find a spot at the Nanaimo Yacht Club but were lucky to find space on the dock at Newcastle Island Marine Park and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

  • Next time you plan to stay near Secret Cove you should check to see if there is space around the corner in Smugglers Cove, it is a gorgeous well protected marine park with some of the best swimming. The Dreamspeaker Cruising Guides are the best west coast boating books especially if you are interested in visiting the marine parks - you won't miss any of the local gems, you will know where to anchor and what kind of bottom conditions you will be dealing with. We also love Newcastle Island, glad you ended up there instead of Nanaimo! Thanks for the video! πŸ™‚

BTW: "eh" is a multifunction word, it is a question, a statement and so much more. A "hoser" is an absolute moron, to be polite just say as Jeff Foxworthy says "...here's your sign..." and saying "sorry" is usually reciprocated by the other person or persons saying sorry as well. I've asked people who've said sorry to me if that was a five-dollar sorry or a suck it up kind of sorry, I've never collected a nickel thus far. Your washdown would've been a good follow up on why we ceramic coat our MYs. I think with the right nanite technology self-cleaning of the exteriors is just around the corner. Have a great week U2!
