I failed high school with the worst grades possible. After watching this speech in 2011 it made me do high school all over again and graduate with the highest grades in all subjects, got in to university and finished a master in architecture and now I'm working with my dream job as an architect.

This is one of the greatest speeches I've heard. Stanford graduates are lucky to have such an intelligent person speak in front of them!

It’s 2023, and I’m coming back to watch this… Missing Steve Jobs and his wisdom. Love this speech ❤
  • 40 now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

Good to see that Stanford doesn't disable comments like Harvard does.

Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.., I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life!!

"Don't waste it (your life), living someone else's life." I nearly cried listening to this. Too often people work themselves to the ground to support someone else's dream instead of their own because of the fear of the unknown. Take the leap and do what you love guys! It's so worth it!
