  • Man we NEED y’all breaking down these songs 😭 other reactors just listening
  • @nuel3007
I believe he didn’t mean that home invasion line literally. Your explanation of that line, makes more sense, that is, when another man invades ur family, overthrows ur daddy and then take over that daddy duties, that usually brings about daddy issues. That was spot on 🔥
  • This hits to the Hispanic community too, this song hit right in the soul. Have many friends who grew up fatherless as well. As a kid hanging out with friends around the neighborhood, we always gravitated to the one friend that actually had a dedicated father. At the time I never knew why at the end of the day, we ended up there. Now I get it, most of us didn't have father so we would all go to his house to know what it was like to have a father. Kendrick is truly speaking for the masses, and I strongly believe that those who don't understand this album, will eventually come back to it and realize how incredible it is.

Ryan was in his bag during this breakdown.. appreciate the vulnerability fellas ✊🏾💪🏾
  • @rpr9621
This one really hit Ryan hard. Seen him really struggling to keep it together…but he did. You could see it in his facial expressions that he was hearing his father’s voice telling him not to be weak. Thank you fellas for sharing your life experiences. Ryan, there is no doubt your father loved you very much. Great review guys👏🏽

You blew my mind on that home invasion interpretation and I think considering the context of the album and the track you’re dead on.
  • @profmajr
That “home invasions” translation is so spot on. Damn
  • @yondisatobo4134
Kendrick Lamar With this Album ain’t trying to prove that he’s the greatest right now, but he’s trying to both open up to his fans and also trying to have a conversation with us as well, it’s almost like therapy if you like. 🤞🏽❤️

I love that hook.. The cadence.. It's crazy
  • @Flaccccccccc
Throughout the album you hear the tap dancing on certain songs where Kendrick opens up. Where it represents dancing around the conversations that we need to have.

Father Time got me balling man. Losing my dad to cancer rn and all my life we haven’t shown any emotion to each other, this song hit like a brick. ‘When your heart is made of stone, but your mind is made of gold’. As a 15 year old idk this shit rlly is my way out
  • @ApophisEND
This song hit me differently. I already love being a dad but this made me wanna be an even better father
  • @JSH2034
This song made me cry like a baby lol. Especially the start of the 2nd verse I could relate so much. My father passed away in 2019 and I never really grieved about it. I thought I had to be tough, blocked out all emotions and just moved on with life. I realised later that in our whole life we barely showed any true emotion to each other and it’s something I still struggle with today in many parts of my life. Kendrick hit the nail on the head with that one.
  • @Lu_Cidtrip
probably obvious but the "no chaser" hook could relate to "being manly" and not needing a chaser with liquor

As a white, metal guy, I love watching you guys react to hip hop, as you are able to interpret and give perspective I just don't have. Kendrick Lamar's approach to song construction (especially instrumentation,) his poetry and word play... man, he's just the best.
  • @potatoman7475
Tupac made "dear momma" Kendrick made "father time" aka "dear poppa" Looove that. ❤
  • I know it may be a lot to ask for, but PLEASE consider reacting and/or reviewing the whole album. I think both of you have the most intricate analysis of music, and to bring it to a concept for us is amazing. Regardless of what ya'll do, we still support you guys. Phenomenal channel!!!
  • Mother I sober resonates with me so much because I was molested as a child, but I risen above my trauma and now I protect my kids with everything in me. Definitely connected with that Song. Beautiful.
  • My father was absent for most of my life and when he was around I expected so much from him just to prove he loved me. I'm proud he came into my life for that short amount of time because that's when I was becoming a young man. What he taught me has stuck with me to this day and I appreciate it but it truly wasn't enough. Then I listen to mother I sober and damn near cried like I lost another person in my life. This album hit me basically on a personal level. I'm glad this came out when it did because I needed some empathy from anyone or anything at this moment in my life. I love you so much, Kendrick
