After a disappointing contest season, Brandon realised he needed to reinvent everything about his competitive strategy, starting with his Yoyo.

The goal was to create a Next Generation Competition Yoyo. Something that gave its user an “unfair” advantage. The result is the OUTLIER+

The OUTLIER+ is a drastic reinvention of the traditional Outlier design. Most notably, it boasts a 50mm width. Achieving this with a bi-metal design is an extraordinary feat of yoyo design and engineering. The result is a yoyo that is so wide, that it can noticeably enhance a Yoyoer’s accuracy and consistency overnight — and still have the rim weight and spin time to maintain through long intricate tech combos.

Unlike its Outlier predecessors that favoured a more lightweight design, the OUTLIER+ was deliberately made 2 grams heavier. This added weight helps consistency and control even in the most stressful and high-stakes competitive environments.

The OUTLIER+ , or formerly referred to as the OUTLIER 4, was what Brandon used the entire 2023 Yoyo contest season. Leading him to victory in the 2023 US International Open, 2023 Australian National Yoyo Championships, and even qualifying for his first 1A World Yoyo Contest Final ever.

The OUTLIER+ is what Brandon used to exponentially step up his competitive yoyo game and there’s no telling what it will do for you.

This content feels like a science class for yoyos for the explanations of a beast creation, Congratulations for the release of the Outlier+ ❤

The idea of adding weight to counter the effect of nerves is GENIUS and it reminds me a lot of the speedcubing scene, where often cubes that are too light and fast, which would seem to be the best cube to the casual observer because you can theoretically turn faster more easily, are actually not good to have in comp. You want a stable cube, and most cubers want it to not turn TOO fast, so they will add a bit of heavy lube to slow it down a bit oftentimes.

That nervous shake is actually why I'm like the only person that loves the Shutter Bimetal 😂 not the EVO, but the bimetal released in 2019, that thing plays heavy. But when you get in front of people, all the sudden it feels dead on perfect. Im imagining the + is going to be that on steroids 💯💯💯

I wish I could afford one of these... I love yoyos so much. I kinda suck at it but I've started getting a bit better. This is an awesome project Brandon. Love to see it.

Nice vid brandon glad you're posting more now!
  • This is extremely interesting of the things you figured out where problems and how to fix them. Like you said all counter intuitive. I don’t compete and just got my outlier 3 so I will stick with that… for now.
