  • Never heard of gumbo greens before. Those greens look so bomb. It’s like they’re a whole meal by themselves

  • @ronaldkeels5285
I know that its over the top the most important lesson about this recipe is the way Bother A.B. got down with the way he introduced the flavors professionally. Thank you for the tip with your Broth. I have to try this exact recipe to the "T" Because Collars are thick & large,, they can take all that flavor from the sausage & the smoke turkey leg. Keep on Brother AB . I'm also happy to see Brother Pat Neely, he's a good Brother, i have to say, because I've been using his dry rub & his Bbq sauce recipes for about over 10 years now. And I still get praises for the good taste. So thanks Pat. Peace ✌.
  • Okay soooo I made these Gumbo Collard Greens a couple Sundays ago and I just want to share that these bad boys changed my life AB!!! NOT to mention the lives of everybody that ate some...never will I ever fix my collards any other way...matter of fact I got some cooking right now. This time I used a smoked ham hock with my andouille sausage instead of smoked turkey only cause that's what I had on hand...oh and I'm not shame to say that I froze the "pot liquor " from before...no shame in my game!! Lol. Thanks AB...I love your recipes...all of them!!!❤
  • Stems hold all the nutrients! Put those right in pot! Ain’t gonna hurt nothing AB.🤷🏾‍♀️ ❤Luv ur presentation and style.

Gumbo Z’herbes is the proper name created by the late great Mama Queen Leah Chase, from my city…New Orleans. She cooked in her restaurant here at home for decades! From collards to mustards to beet tops, and other greens (9 types), Queen Mother made over one hundred gallons of Gumbo Z’Herbes! Every year, the Thursday before Easter, she served this at the famous Dooky Chase Restaurant! She was a BEAUTIFUL loving legend that lives on connecting ALL people through food. She obviously inspires still and will always! Hugs from THE one and ONLY New Orleans! 💜💚💛⚜️⚜️⚜️🙂

I am back with an update. After transferring the greens to a pan, I could not pour out the broth. I wanted some black-eyed peas so I cooked the dry beans in the broth for 2 hours. I was amazed at how delicious they turned out. AB, thank you so much for this video!!!!
