You, sir, are more dexterous than most people are with hand shovels. This was a joy to watch and I will admit I would be right alongside grampa there watching you work. Can't wait for the next installment.

Good to see an observer, and had the chair thought just about the time he showed up with one. Often puzzled that you don't have more on-lookers. But do enjoy you taking us along on your "digs". Thanks

When they put the phone lines in they must have run them on the surface and poured the stone over top. Good reason to put conduit in for power, phone and cable if they are going to be underground. I have to say you have about the best touch for an equipment operator I have ever seen. Great job.

nice to have the home owner interested in watching your highly skilled work!

I didn't see anyone mention it, but starting at 17:02, look at the lower left side of the screen at the rearview mirror. Chris scoots forward to see where the wires are and runs the bucket with his hands practically behind him. Amazing!

Dude had a chill ass front row seat, just needed a beer

Interesting project. Utility lines cause so many hazards - one day we may get it right! Great camera angles.

Like you said in the beginning “they said if we cut them, then they’ll come out and replace them, no big deal” the fact that you applied critical thinking skills and technique to avoid any further difficulties on the customer is what makes repeat customers The acknowledgment that someone other than yourself might have to go out of their way and your ability to mitigate that will make a life-time customer! Well done on the precision work and being a awesome operator!
  • Chris, if I EVER need excavating done around buried utilities, YOU are freaking hired! Even if DP is closer 😂🤣😂 Definitely looking forward to part 2 (and maybe 3 or 4?) of this particular project.
  • Beautiful pond to be working at. Like your newest observer, he look very into what you were doing!! 👍👍😎✌️✌️🇺🇸
  • @snappingbear
That is a beautiful pond. I hope I'm fortunate enough to have something like that someday.
  • As a plumber for most of my life, I was responsible for a lot of utilities. Only by accident did we ever find a phone line before it found us. Well done, you've given me new hope for operators.
  • @deerdragger1
They call him “Cool Hands Chris” !!✋🏻🤚🏻 Very precise digging Chris, great job getting around the wires👍🏼👏🏻

Another nice video from Chris to watch while drinking my late afternoon/early evening coffee and Milano dark chocolate snack. We eat supper around 9 to 10pm as I worked 2nd shift most of my life. It was interesting that the land owner was there watching for a while sitting in a lawn chair. Just shows how entertaining Chris working can be.

This, boys and girls, is the perfect illustration of a precision, 100% controlled digging to the inch, then pipe laying with your companion in a dangerous situation but in total trust of the 60 ton big machine operator. All the while in a very tight spot and under the watchful eye of the project engineer and under pressure from a coming thunder storm. Textbook material. Awesome Chris, awesome. 😳 👍
  • @tomswindler64
This project does appear to have quite a bit of digging, laying pipes and setting up a drainage system that Withstand time, and future electrical.impressive as always.liked your observer there, was taking it all in.gonna be nice project for you, will just show off more of job skill and work ethic.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎
  • @dennismasel206
I'm impressed with your skills and abilities to work around the utility wires, both digging and laying the pipe into position.
  • @wb8ujb
Nice Chris, always impressed with how smooth an operator you are. Working around utilities is delicate work. You made it look easy. Thanks
