Glee was a groundbreaking show in that it demonstrated that anyone, regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, can be a terrible person

As someone who is getting their teacher certification, the scene with Will watching a male student shower is insane to me. That is so inappropriate on so many levels.

To be fair, this show is supposed to be a satire but along the way it lost its satirical edge and just became another teen drama. If you watch this pilot as a satire then it’s actually quite good.

What I find funny is that Finn makes up a lie saying that Shue offered him extra credit to join the Glee Club, which...is a significantly less creepy and illegal way of getting a kid to join a club than blackmailing him with drug possession And if it's not a lie then that means Will went "okay so on top of not going to jail, you also get extra Spanish credit" and not once did he decide "let me try the other thing first and see if it's enough"

I feel like Glee was meant to be full parody-and then people took it at face value, and then it was forced to take itself seriously.

I can’t believe how obsessed I was with this show my senior year of high school and throughout college. Like it pains me to remember this. I even read Glee fanfic. FML.

The part I liked the most about the show is how the awkward, bullied people can also be a giant asshole in their own right.

I’m fully convinced that the reason why we basically went 10 whole years without a popular high school drama show is because Glee tainted the genre

I always thought of Glee as a Parody and commentary. You can't take it seriously. It's like High School Musical meets It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Terrible people in cliched settings. It ultimately fails as parody because it takes itself too seriously (like The Orville) by the end

The pervert teacher not being disgraced is sadly accurate, my high school math literally got caught sexting a student and he went on to go teach at a middle school 10 miles away
