I love that the people are into digging up history in their own backyards and willingly seek out the experts to find out what is down there. One of many things I love about England, so many centuries of history!
-
It’s so wild that previous centuries are basically swallowed up whole by the earth and we just blithely live right on top of them!
-
If anyone's interested in the Medieval English peasantry and the Medieval countryside in general I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's social history playlist. It's plenty of stuff

Can't get enough of History.

Stewart Ainsworth never ceases to amaze me.

This video transported me back to medieval England and brought daily life in a village to life. The excavations at Alby Hall Farm were fascinating, especially the unexpected discoveries like the Tudor mansion. It's amazing to think about the people who lived there centuries ago.

Gosh, I love Phil.

Her knowing about the lace end blew me away too, b/c I thought it was a nail. The girl deserves credit for being in the know. She must be an expert, dedicated to her field.

the people there are so friendly and nice. The history you guys have is amazing. We don’t have anything near that old here in the US besides maybe Arrowheads near where I’m at in Alabama. I think what you guys are doing is so cool

Oh goody! Just my style. Dig away and see what's down there. Ancient Pensioner's Plots? 🤔🤗 I wish you could take your sweet time and not be rushing so. Rome wasn't uncovered in a day!

I’m from Chicago and at 1:08:06 I instinctively said “Go cubs” after seeing his shirt and then became very confused lol.

I would refer Schwerpunkt's social history album to everyone curious about the mediaeval English peasantry or the countryside during that time. There is a lot of material

Bring it on! ❤

LOVE TONY ROBINSONNNNNNN

Do you worry about plague in the soil? Or maybe the plague wasn't around back then? I've always been interested in medieval times.

😊 We hope to visit England (London) in 3 years, my goal is to visit one area where archaeology work is in progress! ❤ On my bucket list. I've already been to Ellis Island and saw the Statue of Liberty about 10 years ago! 😊

Awesome! I'll be interested to see if the store bought peppers breed true or if they are hybrid. Even if they are hybrid, they will still produce. Might be very similar to the parent or they might be very different. Either way they will be a lot of fun.

I have ancestors from Wales. I wonder what they got up to back then.
