Welcome to the official YouTube channel of The Monkees, home of 60s chart-topping hits “Last Train To Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer” and “Daydream Believer,” as well as multi-platinum, #1 albums ‘The Monkees,’ ‘More of the Monkees,’ ‘Headquarters’ and ‘Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd.’

Monkee-mania began in Los Angeles in 1965 when Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, the late Peter Tork and the late Davy Jones were cast in the eponymous television series about a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night. The quartet brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelia, Broadway and country to their resulting music. By the time the series aired its final episode on March 25, 1968, The Monkees had sold 16 million albums and 7.5 million singles. Few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would have on music and pop culture at large, one that still reverberates more than 50 years later.

Today, February 29, 2024 is "Davy's Day" at our house. It's also the 12 year memorial of Davy's passing. Davy and I go back to the late 70s and early 80s in SoFla, when my brother and I owned a hotel, night club and tennis resort on Lauderdale Beach. Davy and l played tennis there together, making a very competitive men's doubles team. I remember and loved his easy going humor. I respected how generous he was with old fans who recognized him. And he was a big hit with my night club and hotel staff... always kind, always gracious. Unknowingly, millions of Daydream Believers around the World will be paying tribute to Davy today when they hear his marquis song, "Daydream Believer" as their minds drift back to the days of his Monkees' antics. Rest quietly my friend. As my years roll by quickly, l'm looking forward to picking up those racquets and heading to courts once again with you...on the "other side". With eternal honor and respect, Don M. Co-Founder, New Wave Lounge, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. (Facebook) ❤
  • I'm listening in 2024 to feel better. The Monkees music always makes me feel better. So glad I found them on here.

I met The Monkees just when my father gave me a record player in 1968. Since then I bought all their records and still now, at the age of 68, I love their songs. Certainly they ware pre-fab, but they wanted to go farther, ... and made it!!! God be with David, Peter and Mike, and preserve Dolenz as far as possible with us!
  • So sad. I’m 70 and can sing these and know every word. It’s been many years since I’ve heard them.

Mickey Dolenz is one of the most underrated vocalists in the history of popular music 🎶 🎵.
  • I'm 65 now, but remember watching them on tv. Also buying chewing gum with cards in them and a toy car, thanks for the memories ❤from Scotland ❤😊

I grew up with the Monkees since I was 13 years old and when they came on TV in 1966. I fell in love with them and to this day at 70 years old I still listen to their music. They had so,so many songs it's hard to choose. God Bless Davy, Pete and Mike who are playing their butts off in Heaven. God Bless for Micky to keep the Monkees legacy going on and performing for his fellow brothers. He is such a strong man and holding up for all of us to make sure we enjoy Monkeemania. Love you Micky and keep on singing and rockin away. We all love you A fan forever from Maine and thank you for the wonderful memories going.
  • The first record I ever bought was I'm a Believer 45 RPM. It cost me two weeks pocket money. I then got the LP The Monkees for passing my 11-plus exam. Still a fan.
  • @maryroper9193
I've been a fan since the beginning of the Monkees! 58 years and counting!
  • I am nearly bloody 70, and I'm STILL in love with Davy Jones!! I tell you what though, the music is STILL bloody BRILLIANT. Can you imagine any of today's stuff STILL being bloody BRILLIANT after over 50 years! Listening to this makes me feel like a teenager!! And if anyone thinks that that's pathetic... Well they can just Fuck off!
  • @markeaton2003
Thank you Mickey, Mike, Peter and Davy. Growing up with the Monkees made life great then and now.

I don't think Mickey gets the credit he deserves for his vocal skills.
