Damn dads recognized it was their sons with a single crack of their visors and over 50 feet away.

The reason why in Timeranger, the dad is a bit stern is because it's japanese tradition. They need to be more of a leader than a father for their name. In Time Force, the dad is a bit more caring. I like how they showed the family views very differently but clearly for each country.

Time Force: A dad that only wants the better for his son, but doesnt undertands him Timeranger; A father doesnt care about on his son, only his business
  • It still amazes me 21 years later how Eric and Mr. Collins immediately recognized Wes just from a cracked visor despite his face covered in dirt.

I never realized how well written Time force was, it was definitely one of the darkest shows, sadly we don't get that in power rangers anymore.

Time Force may have borrowed almost every element from TimeRanger, but you have to admit, they did a very good job emulating those elements. Power Rangers is known for dulling down their Sentai counterparts, but in this case, the adaptation was quite faithful to the source material, and made for one of the best "Power Ranger" seasons to date.

I like how in the Japanese version the standard soldiers have seemingly real revolvers where in the American they have weird plastic toy weapons. Yet the culture around guns are very different between the two countries. Easy gun ownership in the United states vs strict in Japan. Yet in America they are much more strict on depictions of guns in kids media than Japan is. Just something I find strange.

There so different, PR focuses so much more on the relationship between Wes and his dad, whereas the Japanese counterpart is more about the corporate vs individual. Interesting.

I just love scenes like this. They really show the technology that goes into the suits in universe proving that they aren't just "spandex"
  • @OutFreak28
I love how even the broken helmet looks better on the japanese version.
  • @marslol6938
The fact they spliced locations together so well is an art form
  • @kristerry6508
We seriously need to some more battle-damaged Ranger suits. They look so badass. Makes you remember they are fighting for their lives every episode.

The actor, Edward Albert, who played Wes's father, Mr. Collins, died from lung cancer in 2006

You can really see the difference of cultural styles at 3:36 The US relies heavily on shot reverse shot between dialogue of characters whilst the Japanese display a full body performance, no doubt influenced by Kabuki theatre.
  • @AlexTheHyena
2:42 Timeforce did a very well job conveying the emotion of Wes struggling to stand up while Timeranger kept the detail of the damaged helmet/visor, really loved both versions!
  • @JamesCPotter13
The best thing about this is how much detail went into recreating this scene. Obviously the timeranger scenes took place in a more urban business setting but the positioning of the actors and camera movements are spot on. While it is true that some scenes translate poorly(like the sudden day to night switch during the first Quantum/Time Fire morph) the look of love and care that went into doing this scene justice is amazing.
  • @jtyler8865
so this whole time they just dubbed over scenes and added western characters, my mind is blown.
  • @End0531
I like how people compare the scene with the dads and used to say time force was better but I think that time force gave the story between the father a loving but unable to understand each other while time ranger makes it the more realistic and devastating how a business can easily make you forget the people whose your supposed to love and grating a great distance between what the father wants and what the son chose but I like both of the series because of the different from the show
  • Okay, then Youtube Recommendations, I don't know what crack your smoking but I can dig it.
