We used to have these magnificent RAF fast Launches rescue boat's in Gibraltar . In 1976 RAF 2754 sunk close to Europa Point area due , as said , to a semi underwater , but unseen , floating container below the water line .It broke it's keel .The men were safely rescued ! British Gibraltar ,UK Overseas Territory 🇬🇧.

My grandfather, Thomas Boyd Commanded one of these 'ML's fitted with anti-aircraft guns in the St Nazaire raid and won the DSO for rescuing other crews during the engagement. Beautiful boats, would this have been fitted with a Rolls Royce petrol engine originally rather than the modern turbo diesel?
