Plus, our first camping trip of the season is on the. books and we share all the details of RVing to New Glarus, WI and one very surprising fact about visiting on the weekend. Fresh tank/black tank has us talking dogs and the new CDC ruling, severe summer weather across the country and so much more!

Real cheese curds squeak when you eat them! Freshly battered curds are the way to go, vs Culver's.

What I appreciate most about this channel is how genuine they are. Nothing pretentious, just whole genuine people and it is tremendously appreciated. Thank you! Keep it up!
  • Wisconsin State Park yearly passes are also based on a calendar year. I personally think having to buy the daily pass one day at a time is just their way to encourage purchase of the yearly pass. But they have some great state parks.
  • Native Wisconsinite here. I haven't been to the New Glarus Woods State Park, but you should definitely try out some other Wisconsin State Parks! Some are definitely more feature-filled than others. We get an annual pass, which would probably be your best option. Since I recently travelled to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan I noticed that Michigan parks work the same way. Now, cheese curds aren't all deep fried like Culvers, although those are tasty. They also come in different flavors than cheddar. My favorite ones are from a little cheese factory in Theresa, WI--Widmers. They are brick curds--very unique and delicious!
  • Best cheese curds I ever had were as a teen, fresh from the cheese factory my grandpa started in Mexico. Second best cheese curds are the ones from a little town here on the prairies in Canada.

Are we there yet??? LOL! The fridge not cleaned out doesn’t surprise me. Put a box of baking soda inside. It’s nearly impossible to believe they close a brewery on the weekends! The CDC doesn’t really think outside DC.

I was totally thinking about Tillamook Cheese Curds, fresh as you were talking.

You can camp at Illinois Dekalb County Forest Preserves in the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall for $5 a night. They have pit toilets and no potable water. In March, I needed to get to Elgin for a funeral. I discovered the place when a relative suggested the local KOA after he said his place was filled. The KOA was closed for the season. Turns out that the relative was joking. I told him I would be camping at the Forest Preserve after driving from Philadelphia, PA. He decided to use his Hotel points and get me two nights at the local Holiday Inn. 😀👍

I have never had Cheese Curds so had to look that up. I live in Tulare County California and we are the number one dairy county and number one ag producing county in the nation and we can get fresh Cheese Curds at Bravo Farms.

Love New Glarus Brewery! We live in Wisconsin and just buy the annual State Park sticker and then there is no nightly vehicle fee.

Sorry my sister had to go to hospital with her blood pressure being high. Worried about her. I’m going to watch in a bit.

Good Job. We only go from April till first of June. April is hard to do, a lot of parks are still closed in the Western Northern states. You guys do a Good job. Hehehe And our kids are 45 and 49 and STILL give me pain hehehe.

My youngest son has been parking our travel trailer at home since he could reach the pedals in the truck. He has some weird spatial sense that allows him to back in without any troulbe. It's annoying. He's now 19 and takes the trailer out on his own when my husband and I aren't using it.

Wisconsin is the best!! My wife loves Spotted Cow and Two Women. They are definitely, 2 good reasons to visit. The Wisconsin State parks fill up quickly. Love the people, the Brewers, the fish fries, the cheese curds, the St. Croix River, and fishing. I'm from NJ. When I came to WI, my mother-in-law told me to "sniff our dairy-aire". Cheeseheads crack me up! My wife loves Culvers (WI proud), they have good curds, but I like the cheese curds that are fresh and typically at the State or County fair. 😋

By the time I get our Rv unwinterized it’ll be Homecoming and will have to be rewinterize
  • @jimcampbell2168
Kansas State parks work the same way with the daily passes for vehicles as separate from the camping reservation. Makes sense for day use, but seems like it should be included in the camping fee (at least for one vehicle)
  • @cbuth387
First year with the Camper and can confirm, wi state park website isnt the best. And your wading into dangerous territory with any hint of criticism towards quality of Culvers 😂
  • @meganoneill4801
From California and admittedly “cheese curds” sounds gross.
