Joe and Cherry played a game of gay chicken in highschool but neither one wanted to lose so now its been going on for like 10 years theyre married and have basically adopted the sk8 crew plus shadow as the weird uncle

Funfact: The English VAs for Cherry and Joe tried to record the lines as if the characters were a couple to help with the comedy and it has a completely different feel in dub than sub because they've added bickering and pet names. The English cast had a lot of fun with this anime and you can tell so it's kinda been my favorite anime for awhile because of that :)

Sk8t’s one of those animes where the ships are so obvious that no one can fight over them. I haven’t seen one ship war since I started watching.

You know "Cherry" sounds like "Chéri" in french which mean "darling" so everytime Joe is calling him like this I can't help but think of that (bc I'm french lmao)
