I last posted 2 weeks ago because the process of siding is slow and tedious, and I just didn't want to post something until I had enough done to make the cabin look different than the last time. In my opinion, this is worth the wait - let me know what you think.

I now have 2 sides of the cabin sided, and I feel like most of the challenging parts are over. I have a bit of experience now with things, so hopefully the next 2 walls will be less 'up and down' so-to-speak. Hopefully I have enough lumber for the job, but if not, I will just mill some more! Join me at the sawmill soon!

Now, I can sit here and critique my work to no end, and the gable end at the front doesn't look quite as good as I hoped (maybe all black would have looked better), but it's not worth changing! I think the back will look better with longer spans of the wood both vertically and horizontally.

Of course, my chipmunk friends are back! Yay!! There is one specifically out of the bunch I've seen (I've seen about 4-5) that crawls up on me, and he is the only one, so I am certain that's Johnny from last year. So cute. 🥰

As always, I appreciate you tuning in and watching the journey(s) of my life.

See you in the next one!

M 💜💜

(P.S. Yes, I will sand down and paint/stain the sliding glass door black to match AND I will eventually install a railing 😉😁)

The last minute of this video is, in my opinion, YouTube gold. Worth the wait, absolutely. Don't change a thing.

It's a cabin, it's a rustic Cabin, let it be a rustic cabin. it looks awesome.
  • I don’t believe there is a builder that is 100 % happy with a project. Our little voices in our heads are so critical. I love watching !!!

Love the fact that you had some little helpers to keep you company! ❤

I'm proud of the two bunkies I built in northern Ontario, but, they are in a gravel parking lot on my 15 acres with easy vehicle access. What you have done on the side of a cliff just blows my mind. The dedication is incredibly inspiring. Thanks for what you do, Michygoss. :)
  • Michy, septuagenarian and former rock climber here. I love your channel and content because you climb your own climb and do it your own way, in your own style and accept whatever challenges crop up with a stout heart ❤ and cheerful demeanor. You embrace the concept of “improvise, adapt & overcome”. You go woman! 👍
  • You don't suck Michelle. We all have to learn new things all our lives. So don't worry about it, that's a great cabin and you have done a wonderful job. So just keep on rocking it..
  • My heart skips every time you stand near the edge of the deck. Love the channel please be safe.

  • Hello Madam, What beautiful words at the end of this video. Whatever you do, there will always be people who will make contrary or even hateful comments. I admire you for having carried out this cabin almost alone and with all the logistical problems. I'm looking at you from France Henry
  • "Comparison is the thief of joy." You're doing a GREAT job. So keep doing "YOU" Michelle on YOUR channel Michygoss. And besides...your content is more than the cliff house. Stay positive!

Hey Michy, you do you better than anyone else! Don't get caught-up on how other folks do a project, just enjoy your project and learn as you go.

Don’t doubt yourself. Those boards were cut and covered for the winter and should be fine. If one splits down the road, just replace it. You’re doing great! I think Johnny must be the brave one like you. Much of what you accomplish, others just dream about!

Michelle Experience is learning through failure. You can read a thousand books or watch a thousand videos but learning through failure you never forget. Keep failing and keep learning. Just never give up. You are doing great.
  • @helbergreen
Congratulations on the work. Your cabin is more beautiful every Day.

My favorite saying as a craftsman is”I cut it 3 times and it’s still too short” . Keep it up! You’re doing a phenomenal job in spite of what your’e feeling. BTW, I love the new song. I might use that one in my projects as well. Best Wishes!

Philosophical ending with a great quote but my next t-shirt will say, "I is what I are". Your work is a tremendous inspiration
  • You are amazing!! I think most of us feel that we're just winging it. Butcin the end we do it and it looks great. Your work is awesome!! ❤❤❤
