  • When you are not ready, you are not ready. The majors is a completely different level. A young player could be set back by coming up too early. It’s not just catching, it’s also calling a game.

Great thing about the Dodger farm system is they have patience. Outman and Vargas got their chances this year. Same for Bobby Miller and Sheehan and Grove. All of them had some struggles. Better to ease them in. That’s why Dodgers have such great success. Looking forward to see Cartaya play. It’s crazy as to how good the Dodgers can be still for years to come.

I 100% trust the Dodgers Farm System. It's the best in the MLB.
  • @reno-san87
His time is gonna come as a trade piece lol
  • As much as I would’ve loved to have seen the organization give Diego Cartaya🇻🇪 a cup of cafe (coffee) in the Majors, I always defer to the judgement of our front office and our coaches. Let's go DODGERS 2023 !!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️ ROGER, The LOS ANGELES DODGER

He wasn't ready last year and had probably his worst year in the minors. Next year is important for him and his prospect status.
  • Dalton Rushing in A Ball will be catching up to Diego soon! He's been tearing it up since drafted and looks to be more talented than Diego IMO.
  • @bengolfs1
Will Smith may be the best catcher in MLB and is in his prime. Dodgers would be foolish to replace him now with an unproven blue chip prospect. Cartaya will be dangled as trade bait for a starting pitcher.

Diego is scheduled for the 2024 season. Don't want to rush him
  • @socalastarte6727
He's hitting .191/.348/.459 in AA. He was trade bait, but now he's going to need another year in the minors in order to prove his trade value.
  • @bige8496
Hes got to be better then Barnes.
  • @mannyperez28
I am sorry to say but Diego is not ready yet for the majors he still needs a lot of work to do in order for him to get to the professional level and this is not being racist or has nothing to do with anything with that that’s what it takes if you want to become a professional athlete in a professional sport

Not sure people understand that Diego is regressing when it comes to batting. It's not that he needs more time to improve calling a game. He had a terrible year in 2023 batting-wise at Double-A. This is why he fell from #1 Dodger prospect to #9. That's an ouch. In fact, another catcher is now the Dodgers #1 prospect. My guess, he is part of a trade at the trade deadline.
  • @Matt-xv2cp
Hes batting .207, .676 ops. Hes definitely not ready.
  • @EddieHersh
This didn't age well, did it. Cartaya ended up having a horrible year offensively and has dropped below the top 100 prospects. He's not even close to being ready.
  • The dodgers should save Cartaya for rookie of the year like what they might do to Outman
