  • Values change over the span of life due to external changes, such as death in family, getting lucky if you were not, moving to a different culture, or getting stuck and bullied where you grow up… so, at that point the human will feel lost as the values do not work anymore to hold on, therefore one need to take a chance to change ones values! This is really the first step of acceptance for most people when things in life get overwhelmed and impossible to navigate through! Accept that change of your values is a part of your life span just like seasons change and then understand is Your chance to go forward and build New values that won’t be the ones your family and culture installed in you but if you take this chance they will become yours and yours Only! Good luck from 🇸🇪

*Clarification Note: The fact that it's evidence-based, does NOT mean it "Works more often than other therapies." Like all other theories - it's context and person-dependent. Instead, evidence-based means that ACT it's one of the more easily replicated (generalized, structured) intervention methods, and has shown promise in controlled clinical trial environments (with certain diagnoses/client presentations). Common factors theory teaches us that the primary mechanisms of change are 1) the client-therapist relationship, 2) client expectations, and 3) specific "ingredients" of a theory. (Wampold, 2015).

For those who are reading this comment and are struggling... I see you and you're not alone 🧡️ To me the first step is challenging our inner voice versus just accepting everything it says... which takes practice, but I've found is well worth it. After all the most important relationship we will ever have is with ourselves.

Really meh about the examples given. If you hate your body this will help you change it, but if your family is abusive this will let you put up with it? ACT isn't going to make your body capable of everything you want from it, or make your family treat you with dignity and respect. One of those things you need to learn to work with, because you only get the one body. The other can be replaced with other relationships and traditions that fill the needs that your blood relatives won't.

Music was too loud and couldn't hear the talking properly. Couldn't finish the video

I had this therapy recommended to me as part of my program for chronic pain. It may help my emotions, but I don't see how it can do anything for severe physical pain.
  • @Uncle_Tom
music was too loud and therefore distracting
  • @Elaine-tk7nx
Music FAR too loud. Why do they always put music in the background, as if the content isn't engaging enough without it?!! 😢
  • I have paranoia or persecutory delusion and anxiety anxiety because of using drugs.. All the people who know been making fun of me and discriminating me.. It cause me psychological problem of thinking about how they treat me.. Need help
  • This video is WAY too simplistic. ACT is far more than this, deeper and more profound.
  • @gentlestormtoo
I wish the music was not so loud so I could hear what was being said.
