  • Uh, from what I've heard and read , ad infinitum, was that it was George who suffered the black eye at The Cavern.

Ringo's drumming is the most melodic of all the rock bands of that time. He wasn't flashy but very much a part of the Beatles music. Also contributed a sad charisma to their "look". I like the story that Harrison asked for more from Ringo. Starr never got in the way. He had a great sad voice too. Ginger was great, but too much at times.

Ringo's first musical love was country and western not rock and roll. Don't know if you can hear his C&W influences in his drumming but he became a great R&R drummer all the same.

    who doesn't have disagreements - rediculous - just a beat-up - everybody wants a buck
  • I always liked Ringo's drumming. The drums are the very backbone of the music. Without Ringo, The Beatles would still be unknown. Pete best ain't the best. Ringo is! Lol.

So do people think that making music is really easy? The Beatles from 300 of the greatest songs ever from a blank slate if that's not pressure then what is? People think it's so fun and interesting to go into music but a lot of times it's just plain hard work besides Ringo really wouldn't know anyway it's a lot easier to be a drummer than it is to be Lennon and McCartney and the producer George Martin The Beatles could have easily replaced George and Ringo with other people
