Thank you all for watching and being so enormously generous in the chat! I appreciate all of yis' beauts beyond words! As always, drop a suggestion below! LYRICS BELOW: Þetta mun aldri enda því at ek vil meirr Meirr, gef mér meirr, gef mér meirr Þetta mun aldri enda því at ek vil meirr Meirr, gef mér meirr, gef mér meirr Ef ek hefði hjarta ek gæti elska þik Ef ek hefði rödd ek myndi syngja Eptir nóttina er ek vaki upp Ek mun sjá hvat morgin komar Ef ek hefði rödd ek myndi syngja Dangla fett frá vindaugi ramma Mun ek alltaf alltaf ná gólfið? Meirr, gef mér meirr, gef mér meirr Mullið ok fyllt með allt ek fann Undir ok inni bara at koma í kring Meirr, gef mér meirr, gef mér meirr Ef ek hefði rödd ek myndi syngja
  • Ever considered an Old Norse version of "Valhalla Calling Me"? I feel like your voice would lend itself very well to that song.
  • As someone who accidentally found out how to throat-sing while singing along, alone in my car, I can say: that shit's hard, this man is a legend.
  • Freddie Mercury: has the most varied vocal range for decades Colm McGuinness: hold my jumper
  • @thomascraig6814
Colm has literally the greatest vocal range I’ve heard in my life. He’s a tenor, baritone, and bass all in one...and how many instruments does he play???? I play piano, banjo, and accordion and here this dude can play guitar, banjo, accordion, bouzouki, cello, probably piano, and the 3-string medieval thing. Lol. Colm’s a world class musician.

Then saith the Lord, "Let there be bass!" and Colm McGuinness began to sing...
  • @VerchielxKanda
I had chills already, but I got more when you went up high, then was shocked when you went higher!! I was like "What is his range?! The Milky Way?!" XD
  • @thelorewright
Well, that goes into my DnD playlist. Epic performance.
  • This is metal af. I suddenly grew a beard and wanted to go raiding. I could hear the sound of axe on shield.

As a Swede. I absolutely love the fact i can hear the initial lyrics. "Giv mig mer" aka; Give me more wich is the lyrics of the English song. This is pure perfection and my Swedish ancestors raise the horn to you.

Such deep texture...shivers down my spine... His voice is transcendent beauty
  • @InsanedPsycho
I didn't realize a norse version of that song was missing...until I heard this. We needed this.
  • that is absolutely stunning. just... atmosphere of this song is SO norse, that you can literally hear thunderstorm, falling rocks, cracking ice, roar of the coldest wind and smell of frost on a dark night somewhere on the coast of the northern seas. thank you very, very much for this incredible work! and please, also stay so AWESOME. you're really one of a kind.
  • @ThomasTheVirus
as a norwegian i can say this was really good.. shit i did not know about that there were someone that sang like this in norse and old norse =O

50/50 Danish and Irish guy living in the middle of nowhere America here. I still have relatives in both countries and can understand at least the basics of the Norse languages. I don't know how you landed on my suggested lists a year ago, but your renditions of various Norse and Irish tunes are so good. Both a nod to the traditional renditions with your own twist are exactly what musicians respect in a cover/ recording. You deserve all the praise and success you have already achieved and still have coming to you. Thank you for reminding me of my grandmother's Irish tales (I believe of Kilkenny) and my Danish family in Kolding, Denmark. Keep on doing what makes you happy and the best in the future.

Funny being Icelandic and understanding the whole thing.😂😂 If anyone wants the lyrics: Þetta mun aldrei enda af því at ek vil meir. Meir, gef mér meir, gef mér meir. Þetta mun aldrei enda af því at ek vil meir. Meir, gef mér meir, gef mér meir. Ef ek hefði hjarta ek gæti elkað þig. Ef ek hefði rodd ek mynda syngja. Eftir nóttina er ek vaki upp. Ek mun sjá þat (er?) morgin kemr?. (seems a bit dodgy translated) Ef ek hefði rodd ek myndi syngja. Dangla fet frá vindaugi ramma. <-(seams very flimsily translated) Mun ek alltaf alltaf ná gólfi. <- Meir, gef mér meir, gef mér meir. mulit ok fyllt með allt ek fann. (allt should be in the genitive öllu/ǫllu unless partnered with a relative clause) Undir og inn í. Bara at koma í kring. Meir, gef mér meir, gef mér meir. Ef ek hefði rodd ek myndi syngja. So, a few lines in there were definitely word to word translated rather than contextually translated and could be fixed up but your singing and performance was amazing, Oscarworthy stuff.

THIS. There are just no words in the English language to express how excited I am about this!!! It's going to be the most epic thing that I have ever heard. (In case it wasn't obvious, this is what I voted for in the poll.)

Love this Nordic version, it shakes the ground under my feet.....Absolutely brilliant.
