James Bond lives in this alternate ending. He knows he can not see his family anymore but can return to MI6. The original ending of NTTD left me unsettled. There are better ways for Bond to go out.

It's obvious how they will reboot; Brosnan will be seen stepping out of the shower and say "that was one hell of a night, someone must have spiked my martini. Now where were we ...."

"The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time." Jack London - The Call of the Wild, 1903.
  • I don't know how UK citizens viewed JB's death; as a US citizen, it only bothered me because I so admired the work that Daniel Craig did in this role as the worldwide icon known to us all as James Bond. The way I have always seen Bond: resourcefulness, the cunning, the will to win, and his ability to fight to the death as depicted by Craig made it so easy to root for his portrayal of Bond as authentic because he did get the shit kicked out of him... as it is for us all in real life. Bond's life was a mess; job, love life, friendships, his ups and downs just came back to me as I watched it on the screen as real, even though it was all make believe, portrayed on film, acted out and scripted, Craig made it work. I didn't pretend to be looking at someone I felt a kinship with, I emotionally gave in and rendered my mental faculties moot because I connected and I wanted to root for this man on screen. Daniel Craig's work as James Bond can be loved or despised by the critics all day long, I don't care. It doesn't matter because Craig's work as Bond allowed me to freely choose a fictional character that I believed in: could have a drink with, smoke a cigar with, would actually care about enough to die for. I thoroughly enjoyed rooting and being emotional about Daniel Craig's portrayal of Bond. It just did not matter that it was all make-believe, I for one cared deeply about this actors work as the premier British "00"-spy, and if I could have interjected myself into any role, it would have been to protect this character and not let him die. It was as painful and as bittersweet a death to watch and handle on screen as it has been in my own life letting go loved one's and best friends when they too died. That's why in that fateful scene where Bond meets his demise, a small epiphany occurred, but I've known all along.   Alas, life is not fair, and top it off, we age and die... but damn it, not James Bond. Until Daniel Craig came to the front and was cast as the titular spy.  Well done Sir, you moved my thoughts, fanned my passions, allowed me to dream. Well done indeed Daniel Craig.
  • The Daniel Craig Bond movies strung together make such a compelling story, and even though it feels gut wrenching that his Bond dies, it certainly does tie up the story line appropriately His Bond, more than any of the others, felt the most human and the determined. There would never be a retirement for this Bond.

The Daniel craig era shows the life of James Bond from the beginning until the end …. Unlike the other bonds each film is different mission … I think no time to die ending was perfect to end the Daniel Craig era and after that a new bond will reborn

Final shot. Q comes home to his apartment. Bond steps out of the shadows and says, "Hello, Q. I had no time for alimony."

I grew up with the James Bond franchise. I thought a lot of the characters were good most people my age I’m 70 now most people in my age group still give it to Sean Connery. My personal choice was Daniel Craig. I think he added a light to the role and really made you believe that’s what it agent would have to go through physically and mentally I must be getting a little bit nostalgic in my old age, because I actually liked the alternate endings better than the original for what it’s worth.

This is EXACTLY the sort of thing they should have done instead of killing him off. They could also have left it up in the air and not shown us what happened right after the base blows up Then cut to him after the credits Alive and well but having everyone think he’s dead. That would have been much more Fleming - and audiences would have been happier!
  • Seeing their all face expressions in this scene hearing that James would not make it was painful and heartbreaking 💔

The ending in the movie was perfect, it gives his sacrifice a huge impact on us all. People are saying “how come he dies like this although he survived more dangerous conflicts in the other movies!” They didn’t think about the ending plot, his survival in this movie will put the 2 he loves the most in danger (his love Madeleine and his daughter Mathilde) In the other movies he survived but in this one he chose not to only to keep them safe It’s a huge character progression and it was the perfect way to fulfill his arc ❤️

When we saw the movie in the theater, my wife and I sat there stunned, and just looked at each other and said, “did they just kill James Bond?” I’m sorry, but as someone who has loved these movies since I first saw Goldfinger in our local movie theater when I was 14, my world was shattered! I really don’t care who plays JB next, because My James Bond is dead, as are any future movies to me. Bye old friend…it’s been a good run!

Perhaps, in an alternate universe, this is how James Bond survives. Besides, we all know he can't die just yet...he has a few regenerations left to go. :D

Another way Bond to lived, is in You Only Live Twice novel. Bond doesn't know that has a child from Kissy, and is considered dead by MI6. They do his obituary here too, but he is not dead, he has amnesia.
  • @rameshb5573
Bond never and ever will disappear. He lives in everybody heart
  • @joelsims98
You can take down 007…but you can’t kill James Bond
  • @jasonevans9230
we will not get another bond this good and so well portrayed
