Best part of the video is Chelsea running to the fridge xD <3

Canon is the kid trying to finish their homework on the school bus while the other kids turned in their projects days ago.

No offense to Tony and his message, but the dog steals the show for this video.
  • Let’s face it, any top end camera in the last ten years can produce technical results undreamed of in the golden age of photography. The digital-age improvements are impressive, but the improvement in photographic results is, as best, subject of debate. In the end, the supposed technological competition among Nikon, Canon and Sony is mostly a marketing phenomenon.

Canon: The R1 is a thing Me: Yeah, okay, what's it got? [Canon has left the chat]

I went into three different camera shops a couple of days ago testing out all I could and Canon had the best feel in the hand, ergonomics of all the brands.

Rofl. The Z9 was a hell of a lot more ready than the R1

Canon R3 I would bet was supposed to be the R1 originally but around the same time Sony released their flagship the Alpha 1 and Canon was like "Oh uh this? Yeah this is not our flag ship its uh the hmm... R3. Yeah the R3! We're still working on the R1".

I find it funny because the R6 mark II is already a spectacular, near-perfect camera for almost every type of photography. I can see the R1 being 30-32MP @ 100FPS, 9mil dot EVF, 4mil dot OLED screen that flips like the a9III's, flash sync of 1/1000th, and have GPS and ethernet features. Maybe they even lift the dual USB-C ports setup from the NIkon Z8.

tony are you having any issue with your sony a1 and the firmware update and your bluetooth not working after the update?
  • @mgscheue
I hope the Panasonic rumor isn't true. Just say no to vertical videos.
  • @RogerZoul
The r3 was originally the r1, but canon got scared when they came with 24 MP vs 50. So the r1 became the r3 and canon went back to the drawing board.

I wonder if for the vertical camera they only “rotate” the sensor or they actually change the outer shape so that it looks like a vertical camera.
  • @AOTanoos22
Thanks for the updates. Are you guys planning to review the Sony Xperia Mark 6 That just got revealed today? I hope you can review it vs the iPhone and Samsung.
  • @lucas_92
Tony, please test the canon R1 with a photo session of your dogs running around 🙏🏻
  • @allangault9500

Interestingly, the email Canon USA sent out to end users later in the day was titled “Sneak peek: Something great is almost here” and then goes on to say “A new flagship full-frame camera will be arriving in 2024”. They didn’t say it may be coming in 2024. They said it would be. 🤷🏻‍♂️
