"native rural Nebraska" is an understatement. He taught in the town of Alliance, Ne. I worked there for the Burlington Northern railroad during the mid to late 1980's. A city with fine, hard working people, but very isolated, to say the least. If you can tough it out in a place like Alliance Nebraska, you can handle anything. Godspeed, Tim Walz!
