This was my life for over a decade. I've witnessed alot of crazy shi out on the bering sea. Alot of work n long hrs but God kept me n the crew safe out there.

I did 2 years on that boat and I got to tell ya, it was the toughest job I have ever had. working 12-16 shift 7 days a week, extremely physical. One thing that they don't lack is food, the kitchen always had top notch food, lots of seafood, fruits, ice cream as much as you can eat. they also had a little theatre room with a gym.

These people have my utmost respect for the insanely work they do for all of us back home. The pay they get is well deserved.

Wow, what a beautiful vessel. Great looking crew, everyone working fast but not sloppy or dangerous. As a 4th generation commercial fisherman, my hat is off to all of you that work on the ocean to feed the world. That was a great episode, thank you.

I found my heart on the Bering Sea as a young Minnesota man who never saw the ocean or even flew on a plane before I signed my first fishing contract. This was the eighties. The owner of my vessel is now the richest man in Norway. I can say I met a billionaire. I was a driver on the line after going through every job the factory offered a processor. We had driver contests and our production went through the roof. I made some hefty bonuses because of it and now at sixty I am having back surgeries as another result. I don’t regret it though…like I said, I found my heart on the Bering sea and now I share it with everyone I Love. FISH ON!!

Yesterday we just had fish finger that our family member brought from Alaska that also work on this ship Alaska Ocean and he was telling me all about their process 16 hour shift work for couple months and work for the same company since 1993 and he getting ready after 2 months rest to tomorrow hit back for another season. God bless and protect all hard working men and women out there that put food on our tables.
