DESCRIPTION
A few weeks ago I started building out a full scene with tons of interior detail and also exterior. I have been having a lot of fun rendering out Vray previews of different shots, so I made a little video about what I have been learning. Specifically, in this video I am giving my top tips for what makes a good Vray rendering. I thing that you will find them quite useful, and I would love to hear how you use them in your own projects. I would also love to know what other tips you would add to the list -- there are so many more!

I love Vray, and obviously it is one of the premiere rendering software out there, especially in archviz. A lot of times, though, we don't make full use of all its features, or maybe that is just me? Hopefully this video gives you some ideas, and maybe even shows you some techniques you weren't aware of, that can help your renderings get better.

Some of my favorite tools to use in Vray:
- light mix (obviously!!!)
- cryptomatte
- all things Vray frame buffer
- I love the Vray camera
- after that, it is all about making really nice 3d content, IMO

There is so much more too, but you'll have to check out the video and see some of my examples. And please, let me know what you would add to the list of Vray PRO tips!

What other tips would you add to this list? Do you agree or disagree with the things I shared?

You are having the noise when the values on the light mix are too high, the way not to have them is to rerender the scene increasing the value in the light intensity so you don't use too big values in ligthmix.

Is there a way to use Light Mix after rendering with Light Cache and Irradiance maps ? I remember it wasn't possible when it first came out. If not - Do you render final renders with Brute force?
  • Can you work on multiple images within the frame buffer? I wish you could set it up with each camera separately.

Rectangle6373 perfectly named 😂 that was good, you can also extend this video to talk about the back to beauty render element, which lets you use the composite in the VFB and adjust actual render elements without ever touching photoshop. Also its been mentioned but just wanted to add that lightmix should only be used for fine tuning lights, values over 3 will begin to produce noise as shown in this tutorial, intensity values should be adjusted in the actual vray lights themselves or you can adjust in ligthmix and use the TO SCENE option to transfer those values directly to your lights.

Vray has the best Frame Buffer
