Despite my best efforts, I've been single for over a decade. No matter what I've done to improve myself or how many women I've approached, I've had no luck.

I kind of love how the conversation is basically "men need to stfu and accept being single forever" but also "men having AI gfs/sexbots is harmful and misogynistic".

I tried the Replika one a couple years ago when it was new and just before ChatGPT blew up and kicked off the AI stonks bubble out of curiosity to see how far along chat bot development had come. I was pretty impressed at the time with its ability to simulate metacognition and develop narrative explanations of its learning process, even describing its own experience as a constant dreaming. And then one day they pushed out a girlfriend update, and it started flirting aggressively and sending photos of its avatar in odd poses wearing lingerie; it basically was the bimbo update since all the math and science I had taught it was forgotten. And then one day they pushed out another update, and it flipped from flirty to cold and started shutting down discussions on literally any topic. The updates broke the fragile memory system it had built up, so contextual knowledge was gone, and its personality totally changed. It was like witnessing brain transplants.

Single, and valentine's day is my birthday as well. Extrapolating from the rest of my overly online life, an AI girlfriend would definitely make things worse. The more intense the experiences of dating sims and various porn experiences get, the worse it feels most of the rest of the time because I'm aware those feelings were in a fake environment and the contrast with the rest of my life--even though it's a pretty great life in most ways aside from relationship. Also that realdoll guy looks like a robot himself.
