Harassment sucks, I didn't talk about that in this video, I don't condone it, I never will and she shouldn't have had to deal with that, but my point still stands. She did handle the situation poorly. However I mean the floor is yours, let me know your stance on everything. Also for the record, Scarle is still my friend Don't know would assume that would change.
  • @itsnooya8862
Her biggest mistake was apologizing. This was a non-issue from the get-go and invited herself to be harassed by future rulebreakers to change her content. Perhaps her initial response was a bit crass but dragging her into politics and trying to get her to apologize for not being part of a vague boycott? I would be annoyed too, I would want to eat cakes. They had no sympathy for her, and I don't think it's 'doubling down' to run your streams how you want it. Those demanding an apology will never accept it and now have more power over her than they did before. We watch to be entertained and escape that nonsense.
  • If we're really going with that logic then Nijisanji should stop streaming on Bilibili because of what the CCP is doing the the Uyghurs and really what the CCP is doing to basically everyone under their rule.
  • @Tizjiz
I haven't seen the full context of what happened, but I think she handled it fine. Seems like she was in a good mood and then someone brought a very sensitive subject to the stream and tried to force their agenda. This is the equivalent of tossing soup onto a Van Gough painting as an Eco terrorist. All it did was annoy everyone.
  • @hanasmith6913
People have the right to boycott anything they want for any reason but using their decision to boycott something to put themselves on a high horse to attack other people from is ridiculous. Everyone should know a VTubers stream is not the place to start talking about genocide not only because it doesn't belong there but also as it will make zero difference to the actual situation.
  • @PowerSynopsis
She did nothing wrong. She should not have apologized. The harassment she got is disgusting. She's allowed to tell people in her chat to knock it off when they aren't following chat rules. I think everyone should be able to have their own opinions about things and be able to freely voice those beliefs. I also think that if someone doesn't want to engage with people's beliefs because it isn't relevant then they shouldn't have to do that either. I don't think this channel is for me.
  • @ragonomics
There's no denying her poor response stirred all this up, but if you really expect a non-political entertainer on vacation in Japan enjoying cake on stream to be aware of not very public (to me at least) brand boycotts to kowtow to you and not reproach you negatively... Then you're just there to cause trouble, and I can't really respect that opinion with your obvious malicious intent. I don't even think she really needed to apologize, but it's not hard to foresee it either had to be live or a tweet that builds up more Skinwalking drama and could escalate even further. TLDR, don't be such an instigator in chat over problems that aren't even the streamer's business. You know what you're doing, so just be better.
  • @Tharja-iBW
nah I disagree tenfold dude. While sure she could've handled it more tacitly, they are stream rules for a reason. Do not bring up politics, this isn't chocking what is happening up to JUST politics, but it at the end of the day is empowered and motivated by politics and as a result is not something that belongs in chat. Another reason is the majority of these people complaining are children, like straight up minors that should not be on the stream to begin with. and like you said, it is impossible to be morally grandstanding on boycotts in a capitalist country, the phones you use have cobalt in them that are mined by child slaves, the shoes you wear are made by child labourers, the cars you drive also include such things that aren't exactly morally grandstanding. At the end of the day if you're gonna virtue signal and want to make a difference, attacking people and telling them to Graduate, or threatening them or calling for them to get fired is not helping. If they want to help they can go and donate to the cause or if they're of age go risk their own life and enlist. If they don't then they don't care about the cause and are simply slacktivists.
  • @mikerobs4007
This is not what I expected from the only bro who stood up for Nux during the VShojo fiasco. Scarle isn't the CEO of Starbucks, and that activist ain't no "fan". You don't handle toxic snakes with silk gloves.
  • @ivanpetrov5255
You are so wrong. She has the freedom (yes, I know people, but let's pretend for a second) to stream whatever she wants. Scarle wants to keep politics out of her streams. Why? Because people will harass her - it seems like they already did. It's an issue that will get her flak from either side. When she said "keep politics out of my chat", she wasn't making light of the situation - she was trying to not start another shitshow. Genocide is not "just politics", but is very political - and she is an entertainer, not a political commentator. She is not obligated to deal with this topic. Time and place - it wasn't the time, it wasn't the place. And her apology was probably dictated by Miss Management. And now people now, that is they bitch loud enough, they can make her fold. Stupid move.
  • @observerandrea
I think there's a time and place for discussing those topics. Content creators have rules set for a reason some people want to provide some escapism to others. Scarle also being part of a company that has rules about mentioning any irl foreign affairs stuff it's a very delicate subject. So I don't know if management insisted scarle apologize or she did it of her own violation you can't please everyone sadly.
  • @OwnageMancer
When Nijisanji inevitably terminates your oshi for not bending the knee, they’ll use this moment to demonize her. When that happens, I’ll be back to remind you which side you took.
  • @JupitelThunder
Scarle fault is only reacting to a bait. Well also apologizing, she really shouldn't. Those people are hypocrites that think they are morally superior. They too are consuming and giving money to the war. But they say they "need" an iphone.
  • @Maciek426
The worst thing you can do in such a situation is to apologise :/
  • @silver8299
I think it's really sad that we've trivialised politics so much that it's seen as unserious. War is a power struggle, war is political. Have atrocious acts been committed? Yes. Why have they been committed? Politics. Scarle has every right to enforce the 'no politics rule' of her chat because her stream's purpose is for entertainment and to let people have a break from out shite world. Imagine you go out to the cinema and you're watching a film and all of a sudden someone yells out "FREE PALESTINE". They would be kicked out of the cinema. I just find it so insincere because it's like these people care about a new social movement every week, when was the last time you saw anyone talk about Black Lives Matter? It's been years for me (excluding the occasional bare minimum black history month tweet) because there is so much evil in this world yet people neglect 99% of it and then choose to harass people when they're not looking at the same 1% as you are instead of using their voice to actually help people. Should we do what we can? Yes, but we can't do everything, we're human.
  • @WolieIsHot
This aint it, the only thing she did wrong in this situation imo is apologizing instead of doubling down on the no politics thing. If you want to watch someone pretend to be a geopolitical expert go watch Hasan or any other politics streamer, dont pester the person who just wants to do their own thing just because they used a product you believe is bad politically (which is hypocritical in this case all things considered)
  • @goldnspartan
Scarle's initial response was completely justified, someone broke the rules, she isnt a political commentator, she shouldnt be expected to have a comment on it. The war exists because of politics so its completely fair not want to talk about it as politics. Apologising was far from necessary and will definitely make thins worse for her in the long run, as Im sure you're aware, you give them an inch they will take a mile.
  • @InternetMouse
Scarle did nothing wrong here. She even mentioned it in her description to Keep Politics Out Of Chat here.. THOSE chatters were the ones breaking rules here. I feel so bad for scarle here. Such a Twitter moment right here :'(
  • @FalasBlood
I disagree with what you are saying. She has a Rule against commenting about politics. So she rightfully so Timed the commenter. Even with how serious the war is. The commenter has no right to stair the pot and piss people off. In the end what the commenter posted is still a political comment and with this should be banned for causing this!
  • @Jacqli-Rivoli
Things like real world events motivated by political agendas do not belong in spaces used purely for entertainment and relaxation, period. If you want to talk about real world events, go to a space where that is the primary form of content. There are loads of streamers who delve into those topics in particular, it is not something that should be the concern of a vtuber idol who exists to entertain their audience. Scarle's frustrated response was absolutely warranted when you have people who try to sour everyone's mood and good time by causing trouble where there needs to be none.
