Pro tip for buyers and sellers: When researching what something is worth, always look at sold listings. You want to know how much people are paying for it, not how much people ask for it.
  • Be extra cautious when shopping for items such as suitcases, purses, linens, etc. at thrift stores. Bed bugs are on the rise, and this is one way they are transmitted.
  • I had just seen one of the glass paperweights you featured just this morning and after seeing your video I rushed back to goodwill and it was still there! Over 60yrs old made in Italy.
  • Goodwill slays me. The stuff is ALL donated. Yes employees, rent, utilities cost BUT... their prices are getting outrageous!!!

Here’s a great tip for everyone: For years I have always packed large heavy duty Tupperware containers, like bread keepers, cookie boxes. I fill them with clothes etc going away and if I buy glass items when I travel I pack them in the Tupperware with small clothing items to cushion them. I have never had anything broken using this method and it doesn’t take up much space. Sometimes they even fit in the bottom of the carryon.

I went to Goodwill this morning and their prices were so outrageous you get a better deal at Walmart.

Hi! I don’t know if someone’s already told you but the frog plush toy was sold at Ikea in the mid-late 90s. The zipper is for your child to store their pyjamas in. I still have my daughter's one in my one-day-I'm-going-to-be-a-grandmother box.❤️

I love sewing so I buy lots of sheets, quilt covers and pillowcases for the fabric. I also buy men’s shirts for the fabric but only if they’re cheap. In my country, thrift stores are getting crazy expensive which is ridiculous. But I will buy items made from “ugly” fabric because when it’s included in a larger piece, it can be pretty. I also buy beaded necklaces if they’re cheap to pull apart and add embellishments to whatever I’m sewing. My next things to buy will be denim jeans. There’s so much you can make from that fabric. My goal within the next two years is to make all my own clothes from thrifted fabric so I never have to buy anything new again
  • I have been saving up and buying things I could sell. But don’t know how to get started I’m 70 years old. Was going to start and my Son was murdered. Year ago so I’m just now becoming awake!! I live with my daughter so I have to help her no not have want to she has children!!! I love watching you. I have learned so much from you! When I felt cold in my soul I watch your channels. Thank you and God bless!
  • my parents retired early and rented a corner in an antique co - op with 5 - 6 other sellers, they went on a big buying trips driving a big station wagon around the USA in october when it cooled off and they also could see the autumn colors.
  • I grew up with thrift store items and always loved shopping in them too!! I learned a lot watching how you make your choices. Something happened to me as I was watching your video. My mom passed away in 2020. Out of the blue, I began thinking of her and tearing up. When a few seconds later, I got chills!! You zoomed into a blue-green glass bowl that my mom had in our living room throughout the 1970s!! I hadn't seen this bowl since then!! This was confirmation to me that my mom was watching your video with me. Thank you!! 🥰🥰

At 12:50 you passed a jewelry box, I would always check those to see how old they are and what they are made of. Because, a vintage cherrywood jewelry box (like the one here) could go for upwards of $100! 😊 Happy thrifting

Quick tip for those traveling and wanting to buy Plush or clothes, travel with space saver (borrow a vacuum from the hotel) or use the roll kind or pacum type bags and shrink down the size and fit more in that suitcase!!
  • @Grads315
You were talking about shoes & didn’t pick up a pair because they were “a really big size 14 or 16, (mens or womens), but a quick fyi, Bigger sizes sell way better than the smaller sizes, In adult shoes. Thx! I enjoy watching your videos and it’s always great to learn something new!

Thrift stores are getting wise to this. Was in a Goodwill today in Asheville NC. Found a Limoges France soup tureen but they had 38.00 on it. They did their homework. Yes...it would be more at an antique store, but 38.00 is a little much for Goodwill.

The small metal /brass case is a fancy dispenser for rolls of stamps. Put the roll inside and the end sticks out. The lid is typically heavy.

I always look at scarves silk one's in particular. They weigh nothing and take up no room and the right one's can sell for a lot of money. Scarves with hand rolled & finished edges are always worth buying as even without a label or knowing the brand you know they would have been expensive to buy.

This has become a new thing for me. I've been thrifting and antiquing for years but it literally never popped in my mind to thrift while out of town. Now it's one of the things I truly look forward to doing when we go out of town. Thanks for sharing
  • I always thrift when ever I travel… I wrap up the breakables in my clothes, I would never leave something behind and not buy it just because I’m traveling. I’ve even bought some bubble wrap for those delicate items and have often bought an extra suitcase. Love your channel. Thanks!!!
  • @magpieidaho
I never pass up small, high-quality crystal pieces. I love them!
