Philippines Refuses "Direct Involvement Of US Forces" In Resupply Missions Amid Deal With China

The Philippines and China have “reached an understanding” for resupply missions to a grounded Filipino naval ship in the South China Sea. The deal followed "frank and constructive discussions" between the two sides at the Bilateral Consultation Mechanism earlier in July.
China confirmed the “temporary arrangement” with the two sides agreeing to jointly manage maritime differences and de-escalate the situation.
The Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) did not provide details on the “provisional arrangement’ agreed on July 21.

    Seems the Philippines came to the table after Blinken said the US will defend the Philippines as per the mutual defense agreement. That agreement does not include Maritime Claims after 1951.

    In western perspective war is about money and who is wealthy to take the risk of participation. The question about rumors of upcoming war is not about how many people are enraged to participate but how many wealthy financers wants to take the risk.

    Most of the Philippines problem done by the leaders of the country. Just take a look in WPS/SCS, the problem started during President Ramos time. Exacerbated during President Arroyo because she was more concerned of domestic politics than to secure, protect & preserve the WPS. Worsen during President Duterte that was time when the country's sovereignty surrendered to China. And, Continued up to this time because the Office of the President, National Security Council & Armed Forces of the Philippines whose constitutional mandate is to secure, protect and preserve the national territory does not have clear policy of the situation. What they have? Words...words...sometimes fiery words...oftentimes conceding words of hopelessness.
