Its called instant torque. While your engine has to go through revs and gears it takes an ice a while to create power. Also each cylinder only makes power once out of 4 strokes

Just looked up the brand and basically an 80 mile range e-bike that can get up to 65 mph, 80 mph if you get a different gearing for about 6k usd this is awesome!

That was a lower performance one too. If you ran up on a 12000 or 15000w one you probably would of been MORE surprised!

lol I saw one the other night I was driving along a 40mph road and came up to a red light, saw the bicyclist sitting at the light on the small shoulder, I legit thought it was just a regular bike. We start rolling and man he’s keeping up with me! I was like holy crap! Next light I asked him about it and I believe it was a very similar model to this one. I said cool dude just be safe!

Sorry for the disturbing news but there's a whole crop of home-built e-bikes that are being constructed in the past few years that are seeing 0-60 times of under 3 seconds. There are FB groups for these, peeps are taking typical dirt bike frames and running motors at 25kw (about 33 hp) or even more. 33hp doesn't sound like a lot but in electric form the acceleration numbers smash typical ice engines putting out those hp figures.

For those making fun of the Golf there's not a lot of wrong with a Golf. It's a basic semi-reliable transportation box. You gotta go what you gotta do and there's nothing wrong with keeping it basic and affordable.
