When Jordan won this dunk contest in 1988...he was also the Defensive Player of the Year, Scoring Champ, Steals Leader, MVP, and All Star MVP...that's insane
-
when I watched this as a child, I went back out to the basketball court, stepped on the free throw line, looked at the basket, and just marveled.
-
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER MICHAEL JORDAN !!! Man I miss that man and that era of basketball!!! I could watch this a thousand times and it would never get old .
-
I love watching Jordan dunks in slow motion... his movement in the air is pure art! Today there're many different dunk contests with more complicated tricks, but still no one dunks as beautifully as Jordan
-
When you watch MJ dunk in slow motion, it really is special.
-
Slam Dunk is not just a power, but also the art of beauty and style. And MJ is a master of both.
-
That last dunk when he took off from the free throw line with his body lean forward, legs curled up and flared out is the most incredible Dunk poster capturing a HUMAN in mid flight............Dang !
-
I remember staying late at night to watch this, I was cheering for Wilkins although MJ was my favourite player. What a contest, Clyde, Webb, Wilkins and the GOAT, this was pure NBA.
-
7:45 Whoever edited out that footage from that angle deserves capital punishment
-
Man.....brought tears to my eyes as a 15 year old watching this...and still does at 47 years old. This never gets old. 🐐.
-
My god, I could watch this all day!!
-
more amazing thing is that MJ dribbles and takes off from the free throw line, doesn't carry and travel like others i seen. spectacular, brings back such good memories.
-
For some reason, when Jordan was on the court, there was literally magic in the air. No one else has that same presence. What a magical era.
-
"History repeats itself."

RIP Slam Dunk Contest ... gone but not forgotten
-
That feeling of being the absolute best at what you do and everyone around you cheering you on and confirming your pride and hard work, nothing like it in all the world. It's a feeling quite unmatched in to any other. I imagine this is how gladiators felt at the Coloseum in ancient Rome. Greatness in it's purest form.
-
These guys make These dunks look easy but the hang time and body contortions is so difficult to do and they never miss! Dominic throwing it down with such power and Jordan with such graceful movement in the AIR. What a time for basketball 🏀 🙌 👏
-
i think the gracefullness of jordan's dunk is his edge among dunkers until today...so gracefull so amazing
-
They're all awesome, but Jordan is just a master

I was 14 year old watching this in the tv with my friends... this was such a great time in history. And YES I had the Air Jordans, the outfit with the right number and MJ was my hero.
