Such a powerful song! I first heard you last fall while delivering for Amazon and listening to K love. You have come for such a time as this for many people. The only example of fatherhood that I ever had was a love with conditions. “Do what I say, the way I say it, or I will relinquish all I’ve ever given you!” I was living life with the same chip on my shoulder! I looked at my Heavenly Father the same way, as a disciplinarian who was waiting to drop the hammer on me for my life of sins. But this song…. This message really brought to light the true nature of our Heavenly Father! God IS LOVE! He created each of us with a well thought out purpose for our lives. There is no one on this earth that is just a pawn. Sin is what sways us from the trajectory He set us in motion on. “I’ve been the rebel who’s run from your arms…” So then he showed us just how much He loves us! He would give EVERYTHING just to bring you back to his loving arms, EVERYTHING including His sinless spotless son in whom he was well pleased! There is NOTHING that separates us from his unconditional love! Pride and our ignorance of how valued we are in his sight is what causes us to run the other way! We think we are running from judgment when we are actually running from abundant grace! “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29
