Chef Lord Maynard of Kuya Lord brought the best Filipino food of the Philippines to Los Angeles through his garage kitchen, which exploded in popularity during the pandemic. After opening a storefront publicly in 2022, Kuya Lord has quickly shot through the ranks and is #48 on LA's 101 Best. Featuring authentic ingredients and traditional cooking methods, Chef Maynard and his wife Gigi have become a local sensation and have more than the Filipino community behind them. This family-owned restaurant will have you missing your Filipino roots and for everyone else, an introduction to the culinary Filipino world.

As a Filipino, I think Filipino-Americans really are made ignorant of their homeland's culture by what he said at the start, that's why they have cultural identity crisis, some think they identify as Pacific Islanders or Latinos other than an Asian which is wrong.
  • So modern and underrated i'm from Philippines.. I'm so proud being a filipino..

The slight delay in his speech pattern is a hallmark of most non-native English speakers. Delaying while the brain in translating back and forth between two languages. He has a great sense of humor though, typical Pinoy, always ready to smile and crack a joke.
