Its amazing that some people think because theyre on holiday that the normal rules of politelessness and common decency don't apply!!! Sanitation is So important with so many people are crammed into such a small space!

We bring Wet Ones wipes to the buffet. They have benzalkonium chloride, which kills norovirus (purell does not). We wash our hands walking in and then wipe them when we sit down to eat. They sell them at Walmart and other pharmacies in either a box of individual packets or a tub or big pack of wipes.

Oh you two are such a delight. How can people not wash their bloody hands!!! How can they forget what we've been thru? Great advice on everything gentlemen!
  • Ginger "beer" (non alcoholic) works, green apples, bananas, rice dry toast and cola (coke works best) but get the fizz out, you just need to make it flat, little sips. Those are also natural relief, oh Papaya we've found helps also.

We love our trans pacific and Atlantic cruises simply for the rest. Working gals at the time, so laying around, drinking coffee, eating and watch TV was so right up our alley.
  • Maybe we are strange or maybe we've spent too much time on a ship, but we kind of love a stormy day or two. 🤣🤣🤣

Years ago we sailed on an old ship that dud not have stabilizers. The Seas got so rough we had to put the mattresses on the floor because we kept getting tossed out of bed. Those were the days. 😊
  • One of the reasons I love HAL is that the buffer is NOT self serve. I do use the wash stations a lot, because I've seen so many people not washing up as they should. When I sit down with my food, I use hand sanitizer. That buffet looked awful, unkempt.
  • In 1974 we went across the Pacific from Newark, NJ to Sydney on a freighter. Through the Panama Canal. It took 3 weeks. There were 12 passengers and we had very good accommodations. We had our 2 year old aboard. No rough seas until the Tasman Sea between New Zealand and Australia. Then Wow

It’s Sunday afternoon. Time for a cup of tea and some shortbread and settle in to watch Ben and David!
  • I think I've heard somewhere that if you're feeling the motion sick and lying down isn't helping, then try changing the direction you're lying in, (try rotating 90 degrees, or even 45 degree increments).
  • As Mariner myself, whenever or whoever having seasickness due to vessel motion, go to the main deck and take the fresh air. If throwing out happen, just do it and let go. Return back to take a glass of warm water and it will help a lot. Don't lay down on the bed and stay in the cabin.

My seasickness trick is always take Dramamine non drowsy each night before bed. Start the night before the cruise starts. That way it never gets ahold of you.

Kudos to the entertainment cast for putting on a show in what must have been challenging, to say the least, conditions! 😱
  • @lora6829
New to the Ben and David party and cannot get enough now, I’m currently unwell and Ben and David are my entertainment thanks guys your fab!

Hi, I would recommend bringing a pack of plastic gloves and use one on one hand for the Buffett and tongs and other hand for plate. Germs are par for the course, best to take it upon yourself to protect yourself 😊 cheers!
  • David the book you found, you guys should write a little message in it to say where it's been, I think that is a cool idea that person left that in memory of their father ❤
  • Thanks you both soo sooo sooo much for reminding people about the handwashing. I love that you specifically mention the tongs. I worked at a health department and trust me, people each tons of food with their fingers and slobber all over then go back for more food and grip those tongs soooo gross.
