I submitted the Frozen Ever After breakdown! It was such a crazy experience, so happy to see it featured

I love how that maintenance guy explained things to the guests. Being honest is great way to keep them calm and give an idea of how long it might take.

His “something has stopped us now” is the Mickey impression I didn’t know I needed

as someone in a wheelchair I was so curious how they help people out during a breakdown and Im glad I got to see one of the ways!
  • When Alice In Wonderland broke down I was stuck in the same spot in front of The Queen Of Hearts saying shall we play croquet and then we couldn’t hear the cast member because the music was so loud.

One of the most frightening experiences of my life (including a tour in Iraq in 2003) was riding "It's a Small World" when right after the ride began the music cut off. If you've ever rode through listening to all of the moving parts and really watching the animatronics, you know what I'm talking about. Like something straight out of a Wes Craven movie.

I like how the cast members say when a ride breaks if everyone is comfortable taking the stairs I feel like it’s nice and inclusive <3

It's funny how various disney fans actually desire for their ride to break down, and understably so. While most people don't want to lose that immersion, Disney Parks allow the ride to turn into a whole other awesome show that only so many get to see. It's even more exciting when you know how safe and secure these rides are and how prepared they are to keep you happy as your adventure is cut short. Can't say the same for places like Six Flags or Knott's Berry Farm, or basically any Outdoor Coaster park
  • That Kite Fail with King Louie losing an arm is basically that one Macy's Parade fail when Barney the Dinosaur got torn at it's side in the infamous year 1997.

I've had one breakdown in my life and it was hysterical. Me and my family were riding Winnie the Pooh in WDW and we tripped a mat and broke the ride right as we were in the doorway between bouncing with Tigger and leaving the tree house. We were stuck for about 15-20 minutes since the maintenance people had to manually move our car so we could get out safely. (Most of us are not the smallest people in the world so we weren't able to squeeze out) So once we left and had our fast pass we tried to use it to ride Pirates (this was right after the auction refurbishment) and the Kraken escaped. So we just went back to the hotel with one of the best Disney world memories ever.
  • The reaction of the jetskier holding Louie when he ripped is pretty great..instant face into hands, then quick right back into character, waving at the audience

These ride breakdown and malfunction videos are such a treat for us,keep up the good work!
  • I remember riding tower of terror and someone's parents asked a cast member to stop the ride because her son had eye surgery. It stopped right before you move foward to begin the drop. We had to take a real elevator back down to the first floor. That room actually looked crazy cool with the lights on. The technology behind the effects was amazing.

One time my cousin and I were on one of the shells together on the Little Mermaid ride and we stopped right underneath Ursula’s eels but they were still talking so whenever the announcement came on we got scared half to death. Luckily, the ride started to work again and we saw the rest of the ride😊

If there's anything we learnt from all these breakdowns and malfuctions, it's 1) people love seeing the behind the scenes of well engineered machines, and 2) people love walking through attractions sometimes more than riding through them. That's why I still believe Walt Disney's original idea for Haunted Mansion will have been popular today where people would just walkthrough the Museum of the Weird. The Great Movie Ride's final show looked to be a hit among park goers on that day where they just walked through the attraction and not ride it.
  • I can honestly believe you guys with the fact that "There is no experience like an In-Show Exit". We all love those

You mentioning being stuck on It's A Small World reminded me of when my dad told me about the time he got stuck on the ride. I believe when he was a teenager, he went to the Magic Kingdom as a school trip or with his friends, something along those lines, and he went on It's A Small World and ended up getting stuck for a whole hour. Not too bad, right? Yeah, if the music had stopped. My dad was stuck on that ride for a whole hour listening to the song be played, over and over again. At one point I even learned how to play the theme on piano so I could spite him whenever I wanted to.

The only ride I ever technically got “evacuated” from was Crush n Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon. The water shut off just as we left the conveyor belt on the launch platform so we didn’t have enough speed to go up the first hill and we slid backwards into the middle of the two hills. Cast members had to open the netting to the side and we walked down the stairs to the bottom of the slide.
