  • When you added the oil and vinegar it brought a tear to my eye. I'm going to the grocery store and making this today.
  • I usually mix the olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and oregano in a small bowl to have all the ingredient integrated evenly like a dressing. Looks great. Thank you.

I love Italian subs, and that's all I order when I go to a sandwich shop. I'll have to try this at home.

Dude! That's a rocking sub right there! Was just thinking about you, haven't seen an upload from you in a while, thought you retired. Good to have CC back! Rock On!

This is good stuff. I normally take some of the bread out to form a pocket for the meat. Also I lay my prosciutto perpendicular to the bread and fold it over. That way you are bitting with the grain of the prosciutto and it makes it less stringy.

The best sandwich in the world! I love an Italian sub, and yes, with Lays potato chips too. That is gorgeous, and since my son just unpacked the groceries, and all the ingredients are here, I'm making this for lunch. I make mine just like yours but only once in a while I will switch to mayonnaise just as a change of pace. (not often) I just realized that I have been leaving off the oregano and I have no idea why!! It will go in today, and your so right, the salt and pepper makes all the difference in the world too. It's so wonderful to see you, I've been really busy, and have missed a lot of videos, and this video is a reminder of just how much I have been missing. Wonderful video. Bless, Sheila
  • Where have you been Mr Crouton. Miss your show and your kind personality. Pamela in Detroit Saturday 5-14-2022

My mouth is watering. Looks so good. I would add hot cherry peppers and pickles. The crunchy bread is the most important thing along with the thinly sliced meat. Great video!!

I love how there is an even layer of all ingredients from side to side. You get a bite of everything at once. Some sub shops have all the meat in the bottom and all the veggies on the top.
  • I saw in a video not too long ago that the secret to a good deli sub like this is to wrap it like they would in the sub shop for a while. I've tried it and I think they may be on to something, gives the ingredients/flavors time to mellow or develop.
