Let's Chat: My Journey with ADHD, Dyslexia, Auditory Processing and Chronic Illness

✨ ABOUT ME ✨
Hi, I'm Katie and I may plan a bit differently from others. I am neurodivergent and planning around chronic illnesses, so I write in pencil and leave things very flexible. I also misspeak and misspell a lot due to auditory processing and dyslexia. I use tarot and oracle cards to help me navigate my upcoming week along with a separate vertical life planner, work planner, and daily journal. I also love to do tiny tidies around the home in unique ways that work for my brain and energy.

Agreed chronic illness sucks! I live with chronic pain and other health issues and it’s so frustrating as a now 35 year old mother of 5 and been sick since I was 27years it is really taken a toll on me and my family! But life most go on time never stops even if the clock stops working time keeps going 👍🏾💕

I get my right and left mixed up all the time. I have to think I write with this hand and I'm right handed so this is right.

Can’t do bright lights. We put in new ceiling fans that you can dim and it is so perfect for me! Also those clothing tags are a huge no for me. Ugh

I majored in math when I went to college. I was 40. During that time, I realized I was seeing the numbers wrong. Ironic. I figured I must have numbers dyslexia. A few years later, I got a job...at a bank. I was always triple checking because I never knew when it would happen and I was dealing with other people's money.

Allergies are so hard to deal with. I am apparently not allergic to anything but nearly everything is a trigger. So they call it “non allergenic rhinitis”. I’m sick all the time with these stupid sinus infections. I get that nasal thing you had done several times a year. Thankfully my Drs are very very gentle but I can see where it could be an issue for sure. I can’t do onions or peppers. Garlic is ok but prob not the best for me. Kills my stomach. Now eggs are bothering me too uuggghhhh. Prob been bothering me for a long time actually. Of course no foods show up on a test as bothering me so I just have to figure it out

Did I tell you my dad is a clinical psychologist? He also did some school testing. Now he works with prisoners.
