Aaliyah and Static are the King and Queen of R&B and wtf? The lord had to take them in ways that just doesnt make sense to me. I still barely know what happened to Static. I think they should have been a male/female duo. My god, we would have some incredible music. It almost sounds as if their music is coming from the sky. They had the greatest chemistry. Static is the best writer I've ever heard. When we get to heaven I think God should keep Static, Baby Girl, and of course TIMBO in a studio so we can hear all the beautiful songs they would have made together. Thats the ultimate trio.

Steven Garrett and Aaliyah Two of the most beautiful artists so sincerely dedicated to their craft and style I remember hearing Aaliyah repeatedly from the radio in and old work truck in 95’ and always for multiple months, missed the intro to who the artist was singing Her voice was projecting deep in her feelings and amazing to me and infectiously beautiful When I finally stumbled upon the mysteriously beautiful cover of the One In A Million CD in a FYE store in 96’, I bought the CD unknowingly to chance it was the artist I had been hearing for all those months from that radio in that old truck It wasn’t one of the 2 or 3 songs that I heard on the radio that I knew in my heart was the same artist, but it was my in hand introduction to having the music of what came to be my #1favorite artist What probably infected me the most about the music was the beauty of her voice and the sincerity in the bear vibes she was giving me from the start I feel the same way of Static Major I was unaware of his work with Aaliyah for years although I knew of the dream team otherwise Probably about 10 years ago, I searched for the Playa album “ Cheers To You” on CD and on vinyl as well I eventually found new copies of both through sellers on eBay Cheers To You gives me Goosebumps just thinking about the lyrics of the song Such a beautiful album It just left me wanting more and more music from Playa They were incredible together and 2 of the most amazing and talented artists in the industry Perfection is what poured out and describes the gift they shared I’ve never gotten over losing Aaliyah and then over the years waking up to the fact that Static Major was such a huge part of her music, it was a painfully sad loss of both period Sad that his music gets taken down and that his final work is unreleased If the music has to do with Aaliyah as much as this song, maybe that’s why it has been unreleased due to family It’s easy to see where working alongside Aaliyah with Steven Garrett, that chemistry could come between them, even though they both had significant relationships already They both paved the way for so many artists to come
