Published 2018-06-01
Get a complete rundown of all of my top restaurants I ate at on my latest trip to Tokyo (東京), Japan where you'll get a sneak peek of the mouthwatering food that we had and what you can expect when you come here as you plan your very own trip. WARNING: Do not watch if already extremely hungry as it may result in hangry-ness.

As one of the largest cities in the world and a super metropolis at that, there are over 160,000 restaurants to choose from. With limited time in Tokyo, the challenge then becomes picking which ones to go to on your visit. The other challenge is that there are also so many different types of food as well so you have to think strategically. While I certainly didn't get even close to going to all the food spots we had planned, I was very happy with all the restaurants we went to. What I've done is put together a top 9 list for all the amazing food we had and a behind the scenes look at why you should go and order.

Here are all of the restaurants that are featured in this video:
1. Uoriki Kaisen Sushi (海鮮 魚力 渋谷東急東横店) - 0:20
2. Shin Udon (慎) - 2:12
3. Piss Alley/Memory Lane (Omoide Yokocho – 思い出横丁) - 4:06
4. Motodane (本種) - 5:36
5. Tempura Shinjuku Tsunahachi Ginza (天ぷら新宿つな八 銀座店) - 7:28
6. Tokyo Station Ramen Street – Rokurinsha Ramen (六厘舎) - 9:44
7. Nakaya (仲家) - 12:09
8. Yakitori Ton Ton (登運とん) - 13:54
9. Sometaro Okonomiyaki (染太郎) - 16:05

  • My favourite place out of these 9 if I had to choose was Uoriki Kaisen Sushi. Which place do you want to try on your next trip to Tokyo? If you enjoyed this vid, drop a sub at goaw.pl/AwesomeTube!
  • Thank you for leaving the name of the restaurant for longer than 10 seconds in each clip. So helpful!

I'm so happy I ate before watching this video! Haha. All of those places look awesome! It's amazing how beautifully presented all the dishes are too. Must get back to Tokyo now!

Thank you for the CAD comparison!! I'm planning on visiting Japan either this year or next. I know prices will definitely have changed but having the comparisons between Yen and CAD help me understand the comparison between currencies. Also - The food looks absolutely DELICIOUS.

While only a few of these places interest me personally (I dont drink and Im personally not a huge fan of most seafood sadly) I actually really like the fact that, while you do recommend these places you are honest about any short comings you find with them. When people just gush about how perfect a place is it makes me wonder how honest they are being or maybe there are other factors making them biased with out realizing it. Good video and Ill keep these places in mind on my trip.

I went to Japan 5 years ago and I want to go back so bad! The culture and architecture is amazing and the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Your video made me hungry so bad. I sure am going back to show this amazing country to my gf after university !
  • @rokgoesaround

A big thanks for the tips on 1 and 6 which I went to on my trip to Tokyo. The sushi place in Shibuya was a bit of a bugger to find, as it’s at the back of a big bottom floor shopping section where they sold bento and other sushi, but it was melt in the mouth sushi and such great and friendly service. It was actually my favourite sushi stop of the tour. And the Tsukemen from Rokurinsha; well I am still thinking about it now and when I visit Tokyo again will make another stop there.
  • @patuantunes3650
A suggestion: add practical information like ALL the prices or how to get there :)
  • @fe2260
Thanks for your tips! In a month I will be in Tokyo for the first time!
  • @moomzd

Dont usually comment on youtube videos, but contrary to the hateful commenters ive found this video both enjoyable and informative. All the best and be you :)
  • @Familytravelgo
Such a variety. I need to widen my taste pallet and try some new foods. A lot of that I would love to try. But I feel like I’m one of the only people who are not crazy about sushi. I’ll still try it though 😀

Heading to Tokyo in a few months. I enjoyed this video, as it showed a few areas we didn't get to explore the last round in Tokyo. So thanks so much!
