Alongside Acheron meaning pain, the Acheron river in Greek mythology is the river wherein the souls of the dead are ferried across it to go to the underworld, to be truly dead. They are ferried by someone named Charon, I think, and I think Acheron fits the role of charon in hsr.

While Welt is confirmed to be the same Welt from HI3, Acheron is not HI3’s Mei. She is the Star Rail equivalent or perhaps Mei from a different parallel universe. Welt recognizes her pretty much the same way he recognizes Luocha / Otto. I don’t think the implication was ever that she is the very same Mei so I’m not sure why people keep coming to that conclusion

Sorry, i believe the name Acheron means "death" and was never translated "pain". In greek mythology, it is traditionally called as the river of woe (which makes sense from her line "i wish to mourn the departed...") then later transcripted to river of pain.

Imagine if Firefly isn't her real name and instead it's Kiana. This is just a theory but I see SAM as like a herrscherer form. Remember how Firefly said she has to almost stay inside SAM because of her sickness ? Reminds me of Kiana when she has Honkai infection until she accepted her powers.
