This album is SUCH a love letter to ballroom, vogue, and Black queer people! She samples a LOT of LGBTQ musicians and sounds and it’s so incredible. Pure/Honey samples Kevin Aviance, DJ Mike Q and Moi Renee who are all very influential LGBTQ performers/musicians in the house scene

this album is like a personification of the her song "blow" to me. its fun, sexy/fierce, carefree, has the groovy/disco essence and just makes you want to dance

The transition from "cuff it" to "energy" is flawless. I had to go back and check that the song switched 😂

The fact her voice can do POP, OPERA, COUNTRY, R&B, FUNK, BALLADS, RAP, and more is insane. She's like 6 artists in one. The album is sublime 🎉🎉🎉

This album makes me I feel like I took a bomb ass edible and hooked up with a supermodel who is also a dominatrix. I had no idea what was happening but I felt exquisite. I'm indoors but I can feel the sun on my skin. Deadass.

Drake has songwriting credits on Heated... so basically he knew what sound Beyoncé was about to drop...which explains why he dropped his album few days after break my soul announcement... it also explains the title " honestly, nevermind". He knew he was about to be defeated😂

Haters in the comments, we get it. You haven't listened to Beyoncé since she released her first album in 1982, a year after her birth. Yes, we know she is overrated. Please allow us enjoy her 'mediocre' music. We love it.

I was meh on Break My Soul when it was released, but in the context and flow of the record I was VIBING. Sequencing matters!

Virgo’s Groove is actually INSANE.I literally had to step away from the album altogether and finish the rest of it later because although the following songs were still great, they all just felt like they were eating VG’s dust lol

I truly understand rating the album as a 9 on the first listen. But once you’re on the second or third listen, it’s clear that this body of work is masterful and it’s a 10. The quality of sound, the energy, and the consistency from start to finish is remarkable. Just when I think I can recover from one track, either a transition happens or another interesting or complex sounds comes through and I have to continue banging my head. I am moved by all the elements of his album and when Summer Renaissance ends, all I can do is restart the whole experience again.

Reactions like this are a great way to sort of relive the first time you heard an album. I come back to these (16 months later) and get documented first time reaction, and it reminds me of how I felt the first time hearing this body of work. I’m still in love with RENAISSANCE . Deserved Album of the Year btw.

Its honestly one of Beyonces best albums! I love that it’s a love letter to her gay uncle that passed away from aids. He had such a big part in introducing her to lots of different music, and now she is dedicating this album to him. I feel like she did justice for him and blessed the lgbt community as well ❤️

Let me tell you something....Beyoncé ATE and left NO crumbs!!!!!!!! Devoured!!!! This album is perfection. Top 2 and it ain't 2!!!!
