The car that's being installed is a porsche 991 cabriolet, although this procedure would be common for a hardtop car as well.
I used a 3 cable pack from Amazon ( Xislet 15" Radar Detector Hardwire Power Cord mirror wire plug Tap). It cost me $14.95.

My detector stays on when the car is off when I wire it like this. Wish it turned off when car is off.
