You know a movie is truly great when you can't stop thinking about it days after you finish it.

when Brendan says that they had to shoot the last scene on the last day because they couldn't do it out of order as they did not know where it was going until the end. That's beautiful art man, and so rare to see Hollywood stars put up with. It shows how much they are really dedicated to the craft and delivering the authenticity of the story through Martin's vision. Beautiful, I want these 3 to keep making movies forever, we can't wait 14 years every time

I think this was Colin Farrell best acting. Just watching his facial expressions and body movements. Work of art

The simplicity of the writing allows the actors to wring every last emotion from each other. One scene I found particularly haunting was when Dominic asked Siobhán if she could love him. What Mr. Keoghan accomplishes in two minutes is astonishing. With facial tics, twisting fingers and muddled words, he is heartbreakingly excellent. When he softly says, " Well, there's another dream gone, " it's crippling.
  • What I like is how the Irish Civil War is off screen, but clearly has an effect on the story.

I've never wanted an actor to win an Oscar more than I want Colin Farrell to win one for this performance. He's incredible in this movie and soulful and he deserves it.
  • Such an odd, hilarious, and depressing film. I really loved it.

There's a palpable need for more fims and TV starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson

No spoiler intended It's been quite a while since I shed a tear for a film, but there's a certain part with a policeman, then no dialogue between Brendan & Colin and to see the amount of pain inside him was so very powerful and so sad, that I could not help myself but cry. I love these three individually and even more so together. What an incredible group of artists. What a beautiful, funny, desperately sad, and clever story this is. Uniquely perfect. I hope Brendan, Colin, Martin & the team get the Oscar recognition that they truly deserve.
  • This Trio is so unbelievably well-fitting, it is scarce to find this in cinema these days.

The dialogue in this film feels like singing in a weird way. Absolutely beautiful. Also love that Gleeson and Farrell literally finish each other’s sentences.

"I didn't come here for licks!", the best line in the movie, had me in stitches.
  • I felt deeply depressed by the time I left the theater. Really shook me.

the whole movie, in every aspect, is a complete masterpiece
  • This movie blew me away. I laughed and cried and everything in between. Definitely in the running for best of the year.
  • The scene in this great film when Colm drives the horse drawn buggy for Padraic had me bawling.

Love all the love Barry Keoghan is getting in these comments. Whole cast is aces and/but the specific praise for his performance is wonderful.
