  • A tip that I have is to hold most of your money in your savings account instead of your chequings account! So when you go to spend money, you are forced to look at your bank account to transfer money over and it almost makes you feel a little guilty. It's also slightly annoying which deters you from spending more lol

it just hit me when you say that the best thing about making money is to spend them, because all this time I feel guilty if I spend my money to buy clothes/games, its like I think all of the money I make is to invest.

me taking restaurant recommendations from your budget spreadsheet 😂

my motivation to budget is to move out!! It's really expensive to live in NYC and Im still living at my parents!!

Figuring out my "guilt free spending" amount was the MOST empowering and helpful tool when I started budgeting. It feels like parenting yourself a little bit, but it's literally an allowance and it makes me so much more relieved to know that I can afford to buy the things I want sometimes! It also forces you to be more conscious in your purchasing decisions, and intentional. Do I want to buy this now? or next month? Will I still want it then? etc etc. Great video!!

I just spent 2 hours making a budget of the past 3 months. I keep telling myself I need a budget but haven't found my platform to keep track of my spending. After watching this video I love the excel idea just being able to see laid out. Hopefully this will stick! Love watching your Financial videos!

  • @yourdaybymk
Yes! The word budget also doesn't have to be a negative word - it should be thought of as a neutral and something you are in control of! It doesn't just mean it's restrictive - it's just how your money works for your life!
