Critics say the bill - which they call the "Russia law" - could be used to threaten civil liberties.
However, the bill now faces a likely veto by Georgia's president, which the parliament in Tbilisi can override by holding an additional vote.

Every citizen should know where the money to control them is coming from.

Could do with a similar law in the UK
-
Seems like a common sense idea to me. I guess those that try to control and influence from abroad don't like it and have sent their minions onto the streets

COME ON CIA , WE CAN DO IT!!! 😂😂😂 Muppet show.....

We should have this law in the UK! They have it in the USA don't they?

2024 the year of protests

🇬🇪We know what they are doing and where and why the money is deposited. No matter how much the traitors shout, we will still leave them hungry. Georgians are not worried about blackmail and sanctions.😂😂😂
-
Seems like a perfectly reasonable law.

America has this same law, practically all democracies have a similar law. Its meant to prevent foreign interference in politics. The fact that the"West" is protesting this law, all of them having similar laws, should tell you everything your need to know about these "protests"

Euromaidan 2.0 coming to Georgia,

😅😅The protesters were probably sponsored by a foreign organization so they were so panicked. Who do you think pays them, people with jobs rarely spend that much time on the road.

The "No Leader Movement" in Georgia also happened in Hong Kong, Myanmar, and Ukraine. It has nothing to do with "democracy" but everything to do with "global geopolitics". This model can be used across culture and geography aiming at "regime change" for the "alliance" of WWIII.

LOL @ Russia law and threatening civil liberties. The US has the same law which nobody mentions and how can telling the people who is meddling in there affairs anything but good? I really worry how many people cant see through the glaringly obvious here.

can you explain to me in simple words what the difference is with EU foreign funding directive?

How is the law any different from most other countries laws? The bill, which passed with 84 members of parliament out of 150 voting in favour, requires non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and media outlets with more than 20 percent of their funding coming from outside Georgia to register as bodies “pursuing the interests of a foreign power”. The new law is similar to transparency legislations in Western countries – such as the Foreign Agents Registration Act in the United States and similar directives planned in France and other European Union countries. Vietnam and Thailand have also passed similar laws banning N.G.O' s interfering in their society. African countries have done the same. The U.S , Australia and U.K for example fund the N.E.D and ASPI as well as other N.G.O 's to create unrest in other countries. From this article: Government-Funded NGOs, Linked To NATO, Are Interfering In European Elections NATO-funded and government-funded NGOs are working with government bodies to interfere in German elections. Their “influence operation” aims to keep Germany in line with American foreign policy objectives and undermine the European peace movement. She joined the French diplomatic service in the 1970s and over three decades went on to occupy a variety of increasingly senior diplomatic positions. From 2003 to 2004, she served as the Ambassador of France to Georgia. All politicians should retire before 60 years old!!
-
Are those foreign agents inciting the riots by any chance.
-
If you get paid from abroad, you must declare it, end of story. Other countries even in the EU have similar laws whats the big problem?
-
Why protest against the law that is to disclose all Russian funding and inluance inside the country? Would those regulations not show all the NGO's that are funded by Kremlin?

US hegemony.
